U16s secure silver medal in Midlands ISA Netball
Well done to the 8 girls that took part in the Midlands ISA netball at St. Dominic’s Grammar School. The team was incredibly focused for the competition with positive energy and represented the school, in line with our motto, ‘with pride’.
We started off in the group stages where we had 5/7 wins! This, along with our goal difference, led us to compete in the Semi-finals. The girls narrowly missed out in the final to the much larger Kings School Warwick who were made t work very hard to win the final.
Congratulations girls. A full tournament report is contained in the PE and games Reports attached.
Polite Request from the village
Please can parents be reminded to park considerately when waiting to collect their children from school.
Local residents have been in touch to request that parking on corners, blocking the pavement and leaving engines running for long periods is avoided.
Please: Park considerately. Engines off.
Thank you.

Tea and Talk, World Mental Health Awareness Day 10th October:
This year we are hosting a Tea and Talk event on the 10th October in school, period 6 in our marquee. This is in the normal assembly time for Year 5 upwards.
Students will be introduced to their mental health champions, will sit down and have a chat with someone they wouldn’t ordinarily talk to whilst enjoying a cup of tea or squash and biscuits. Conversation starters (of a funny, informal nature) will be provided so people don’t sit there and feel in any way, shape or form uncomfortable about the activity. Students will also be asked to complete a small square of paper with ideas or pictures which represent mental health, tips for reducing anxiety or stress or simply motivational/inspirational quotes. These will then be collated to form a mental wellbeing gallery. There will be an opportunity to take part in a short, fun, music quiz of tunes which staff say they enjoy and make them feel good. A small prize will be awarded.
Please could all students remember to:
1) bring in a mug or tea cup to this event. Even better, purchase an old mug or cup from a charity shop to donate even more.
2) bring in £1 donation to swap one item of school uniform and wear something green instead. For one day only (!), winter uniform can be worn if it is easier to match with an item of green. We hope to see a sea of green in support of World Mental Health.
