Ever thought about what you would do if you were the Prime Minister? That’s just what we are doing in our English lessons! We have lots of exciting reading and writing tasks based on the book, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’. Watch out for our upcoming video where we speak directly to the nation in front of no.10! 

 

This term in maths, we will further our knowledge of Multiplication and Division, learn about fractions and delve into measurements (length, perimeter and area). We do regular Times Table practice and complete TTRS and Rainbow Maths tasks.

 

In Science we are exploring Sound by looking at how the ear works and how different sounds travel through a room. We like to do hands on science experiments and will be using musical instruments to help us with out learning.

 

Ello, ello, ello! Our Humanities topic is Crime and Punishment, where we look at how punishment has changed throughout history. We will visit West Midlands Police Museum in Birmingham and get locked inside a real Victorian prison cell. Do you know why the police are nicknamed Bobbie and Peelers? Ask one of our pupils and they’ll be able to tell you. 

 

In Religious Studies we will talk about different views on food and fasting, and what food means to specific religions. Children will learn about why some religions give up certain food and how food can be used to celebrate special occasions or events.

 

Many of our pupils participate in extra-curricular music lessons and we encourage all children to attend lunchtime clubs which range from sports, to music, reading, maths and STEM. 

 

The highlight of our week is Forest School on a Friday afternoon, where we enjoy different activities in our wonderful wooded area. From making camp fires, building shelters, climbing trees and playing in dirt, the muddier we are, the more fun we’ve had! We also do PE/Games, ICT, PSHE, Art and much, much more!
