Welcome to Year 6!

We are a class of 13 children with Mrs Mao and Mr Bury.

We are excited to begin our new history topic – Medicine through Time, followed by our Geography topic of The Americas. The history topic is a fascinating look at the development of medicine since Ancient times to now and the significant individuals and major medical moments.  We will be using our book Kay’s Marvellous Medicine by Adam Kay, with a focus on the key grammatical skills for Year 6.

In Maths we are doing units this term on ratio, algebra, decimals, fractions, percentages, area, perimeter, volume and statistics. We will also be developing our skills in deconstructing word problems, to improve our reasoning and problem solving. We use White Rose Maths in the Prep school and if you wish to support your child at home, there is a great home book for each year group that directly relates to the teaching in class.

Science will be taught by Dr Butt, French will be taught by Mrs Gill and Music by Mrs Izod.   Mrs Adamson will also teach the class Religious Education and PSHE. 

We are planning a trip, our class assembly and looking forward to our whole school production of Annie!

It is going to be an exciting term!
