Another very busy week at Bowbrook!
Plus… Harry Potter book day in the prep school. What fun that was. Potions in Year 1/2 classroom, Quidditch in the marquee and story journeys on a broomstick in J6 …and such great costumes! The staff mad a fantastic effort and should be praised and thanked in equal measure for ‘enriching’ the curriculum on days like today!
Next week as we approach half term looks just as busy!
Tag rugby, Rags 2 Riches, District X-Country, Year 10 Parents’ Evening on Thursday, U15 ISA Midlands Hockey and of course, Half term effort grades to look forward to! Also next week we resume the ‘tradition’ of
School Discos… Prep school and Middle school…these used to be a regular calendar item, were always well attended and good fun!
Prep School disco from 4.00 – 5.00 p.m. on Thursday
Middles Years 7&8 will run from 7.00 – 8.45 p.m. also on Thursday £1 entry and tuck shop available. Halloween disco, so fancy dress or dress to party!
Reminder:
We break for half term on Friday 20th October, normal time. The children are back in school on Thursday 2ndNovember.
Don’t forget: Rags 2 Riches collection. Tuesday 17th October at 9.00 am.
Perfect timing for a seasonal wardrobe sort out!!
Rags 2 Riches for schools will be making collection at school, so please support it again and now more than ever these clothes and items are desperately needed.
A great opportunity to sort out your wardrobe before the winter. There was a good programme on the BBC about what happens to the clothing if you are interested:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3NCQT8fPDn9KfbLGmqqGZvF/the-secret-life-of-your-clothes which can be watched on YouTube. The clothing becomes affordable clothing around the world, we sell the clothes on – as an example some of the clothing will then be sold on market stalls in Africa.
The Rags 2 Riches bags will be sent home next week but please feel free to use normal bin bags as well!
The bags can be placed outside the music room please…
Thank you in advance for your continued support.
Music News:

Congratulations to Oliver Rea in Year 10 who has passed his Grade 2 Drumming exam; a super outcome Oliver, very well done!
Music Star of the Week: Syon Ghosh-Bhatt has impressed in music these last few weeks. He has gone above and beyond to prepare himself for his up-and-coming Film Composition. Well done Syon, a super attitude and effort!

What a week we have had in the Prep School. Year 4 visited Chedworth Roman Villa on Monday, Year 6 visited the Tudor House Museum on Thursday and then we all had a marvelous Curriculum Alive Day on Friday. The children looked fabulous dressed as Harry Potter characters – a great effort from all.

- N/R - Max Taylor for lovely listening.
- I1 - Eretria Bolt for great maths.
- I2 - Elina Woodward for super reading this term.
- J3 - Daniella Bille for working hard in lessons.
- J4 - Aadil Haque for excellent mental maths.
- J5 - Will Rush for an outstanding effort in homework.
- J6 - Ayla Wood for being a conscientious pupil.
We also congratulated Pippa – Jo Houston for an amazing array of rosettes and medals that she won last weekend show jumping with her pony and Megan Harris received a trophy and certificate from her dance school. Very well done everybody, we are always proud of all the extra achievements our talented pupils participate in.
Can I also remind everybody please to try and remember to bring in either a packet or tin for our Harvest service next Thursday.
We also look forward to our Prep Halloween disco next Thursday 4.00 – 5.00pm – all Prep children are invited.
