Congratulations!

We start this week by saying congratulations to 2 pupils who have won National ISA competitions! Fantastic and… we were the only school to place or win in 2 of the categories…That’s the way we like to do it at Bowbrook!

Well done Maria and Rosie. They both took on board my assembly challenge of ‘putting yourself out there’ in entering a National competition and squaring up to schools from all over the country!

ISA National Sports Cover Design Competition.
Fantastic news on our return to school that 2 of our students have secured First places for their entries in to this competition. Congratulations to Maria Parkes (cross country)and Rosie Styles (swimming) for their winning designs which will now be printed as cover designs for the National events later this year.

Prep School News

How lovely to see all the children again after the Easter break!

Our new topics have created a buzz around Prep:  World War 2, history of Peopleton, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings, Around the world and Fairytales.

Trips are being booked, dress up days are being organised and children are signing up to the new clubs on offer:  tennis, yoga, puzzles and games, just dance, gardening, samba, recorders, ukelele, croquet and bowls, computing – simulation.    Does anyone have a croquet set they would be willing to lend us please?  We have one coming in, but wondered if there was another in our community?   Children in 5 made solar ovens and wind turbines this week and 3/4 were very busy creating old Viking maps.   If anyone has any large cardboard boxes spare, could you please send them to Class 3/4 for an exciting project?

Newsflash:  Caterpillars have arrived in N/R!  Names to follow….

J6 are off to Bewdley Museum next week to do an evacuee workshop as part of their World War 2 topic. where they come to school dressed up as an evacuee.

There is a Summer Prep Music Assembly booked for June 11th with a focus on the younger children.  The teachers will talk to the children to see who would like to participate.

Our Assembly was all about perseverance inspired by an iguana – so if you hear the children saying ‘be an iguana’ you’ll know what they mean!

Stay and Play starts again next Wednesday so we look forward to seeing some of our families then.

Have a lovely weekend all.
