Foodbank Donations

Any last donations for the foodbank can be brought in on Monday and left downstairs in the art department.

Collect will be next week. The donations pile is looking fantastic and generous at the moment!!

Many thanks
Mrs Mills.

Talking of Foodbank Donations:

Eliná J3, decided she would like to raise money to buy food for Worcestershire food bank. She arranged a family car valet day at home on Sunday, where she cleaned the inside of family members cars for money to put towards buying food for the Worcestershire food bank. Eliná made a total of £240 to buy food for Worcestershire food bank.

Also in charity news

We shared a link with you in our newsletter a couple of weeks ago about a member of our S11, Harry Carter, who was planning on walking 121 miles in November to raise money for the armed forces, to remember those who lost their lives in WW1 and current conflicts. We are thrilled, as well as very proud, to announce that Harry has completed this challenge and exceeded his target. Many thanks to everyone who donated to this worthwhile cause and huge congratulations to Harry for achieving this with all other commitments he has on at the moment. Superb!

News from the Prep School

What a fun, busy week Prep School have had!

This week we were treated to a fabulous Christingle in Peopleton Church by J4.  They gave every child their very own christingle orange with sweets and had a giant world too, which they used as part of their service.  The Reverend was so impressed she asked to borrow it for her village service!

We had a whole school nativity song assembly practise too this week – you may have heard a few of the songs at home!  Miss White has planned a Junior bake-off in anticipation of Infants Bethlehem Bake off production.  Juniors have designed their own Christmas cupcakes and on Friday morning next week they will decorate them.  There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize, as well as a most creative prize.

Popping in to our Prep Assembly were some of our Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh volunteers, who are running a fundraising initiative across the school for Shelter.  Children can donate £1 from Monday to be able to write a gift tag to a friend in school/teacher in school, which the D of E volunteers will tie on to a candy cane and hand out in the last week of term.

Thank you so much for all your generous donations.  A huge thank-you too to Elina in Y3 for doing her own fundraiser washing cars and both mum and dad matching her funds.  They then went shopping and turned up to school with a car completely full of groceries!

Christmas Art Morning

Don’t forget to sign up to our fabulous Family Christmas Art morning, which is to be held on Saturday, 30th November from 10-12pm.  Please do email sally.white@bowbrookhouseschool.co.ukto let us know you’re coming!

Christmas Art Morning at Bowbrook
Finally, a group of children (to be randomly selected who have put themselves forward) are going to join the residents of Stonebow Care Home in Peopleton on Monday, 9th December for a Christmas carol singing.
