Another busy week at Bowbrook with lots and lots of great images being shared all over our social media!

Lots going on, lots to get involved in and there is another busy week planned next week!

French Exchange 2025

We are hoping to offer pupils the chance of staying for a few days with a French family from 21st to 25th May 2025. This would be on the understanding that the pupil’s family would first host the French partner from the 24th to 28th March, 2025.
The French student would need their own bedroom during their visit.

We are in the initial stages of planning the exchange and would like to gauge the interest of pupils and parents at Bowbrook. The French students involved are all currently year 9 students but I am sure that students in any year from 7,8, 9,10 or 11 could benefit.

The cost per student in 2023 was £200, which also included visits to local places of interest. Despite travel disruption and increased fuel prices, I would still hope to keep the cost around the same but I must stress, this is only a “ball-park” estimate until we can establish more precise numbers.

If you would like your child to take part in the exchange or you would consider hosting a French student, please see the full letter attached and return the reply slip to Mr Whittingham.

S11 GCSE Business Walls Ice Cream Factory Visit

On Friday of this week the S11 Business group travelled down the M5 with Mr Mills to the Walls Ice Cream factory in Gloucester and were immersed into the world of big business, operations, health, safety, production methods, HR and much more. We were given a talk by some excellent individuals within the business and were informed of the history of Walls as well as the impacts on this British business of Brexit, COVID, mergers and other world affairs. This was followed by a comprehensive tour of the factory which makes Magnum, Twister, Ben and Jerrys and many other favourites. It was an excellent day which was made all the better by unlimited free ice cream!! Some took more advantage of others than this. Not Mr Mills though, he only had 3….The Business group were engaged, engaging and were excellent ambassadors for the school throughout the trip.

News from the Art room

There has been a great attendance to the Art clubs at both lunch break and after school this week from Key stage 3 and 4 students. Well done for all of your efforts so far this term!

Next week we will be entering artwork into the ISA Arts Competition, so here is a sneaky peak of what the Bowbrook students have to offer!

There has been a brilliant response to the recent KS3 Art homework to create an original artwork of Bowbrook House, in celebration of our 70^th Anniversary. Any overdue homework should be brought to the Art rooms on Monday morning please, ready to be displayed in school.
