Parents This Week
Another very busy and very productive week!

5 School Fixtures. 1 Midlands hockey tournament. 2 Parents’ Evenings. Dof E. Stay & Play. Annie. Discos, Curriculum Alive Day and vaccinations! It is the way we like to do it at Bowbrook.

Well done everyone – Have a great half term everyone.

Mr Mills – First to mention Christmas!!
Year 10 Business Students Prepare for Christmas Enterprise Challenge 🎁

Our Year 10 Business students have begun planning for an exciting school enterprise competition, set to take place at the upcoming Christmas Fayre in December. Working in teams, the students are developing festive business ideas—from product design and pricing strategies to marketing plans—all with the goal of launching their own mini ventures at the event.

This hands-on project is part of their Business Studies curriculum and offers a fantastic opportunity to apply classroom learning to a real-world scenario. The competition will challenge students to think creatively, work collaboratively, and engage with customers during the Fayre.

We look forward to seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating their entrepreneurial spirit in the run-up to Christmas!

🎉 Middle School Halloween Disco 🎶

This week, students from Years 7, 8 and 9 enjoyed a lively evening at the Middle School Halloween Discos, filled with music, dancing, and plenty of smiles. DJ Randall kept the energy high with a fantastic set, while Prefects Lottie and Max added extra excitement by hosting the Best Dressed and best dancer competitions!

The event was a great opportunity for students to relax, socialise, and celebrate in style.

A big thank you to parents and staff who helped organise the evening and made it such a memorable occasion!

Annie Jr.

Many thanks for your support with Annie Jr. so far this year. With 10 school weeks to go until the show, all students involved have now been given scripts, lyrics and all of the information needed for next half terms rehearsals to share with you at home. All information is also available in the ‘Annie Jr. Cast and Crew’ Teams files and has been sent home via Engage.
Please check through the schedules and information with your child and we look forward to a full and fun half term of rehearsals after the October break!

Many thanks, The Annie Jr. Production Team

Rags 2 Riches for schools

Rags 2 Riches for schools will be making collection at school on Wednesday 18th  November at 9am, so please support it again and now more than ever these clothes and items are desperately needed. A great opportunity to sort out your wardrobe before the winter.

There was a good programme on the BBC about what happens to the clothing if you are interested: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/3NCQT8fPDn9KfbLGmqqGZvF/the-secret-life-of-your-clothes which can be watched on YouTube.  The clothing becomes affordable clothing around the world, we sell the clothes on – as an example some of the clothing will then be sold on market stalls in Africa.

The Rags 2 Riches no longer supply blue bags, so please use normal bin bags and leave them outside the music room, behind the railings.

A great cause and a good fundraiser. Thank you in advance for your continued support.

News from the Prep School

What a way to end our half term with the children celebrating nature for our Curriculum Alive Day!
From making scarecrows and autumn wreaths to creating our own Gaia earth and moon phase box, as well as edible nature art and conker art. The children are gifting the autumn wreaths to our friends at Stonebow Carehome and Peopleton Church. Please do check out our socials over the weekend for some super pictures.

Thank you so much to our amazing Parents Committee for organising and running our Prep Halloween Disco. The children had a spookily great time. We had fantastic representation for Bowbrook at the ISA swimming gala in Walsall on Tuesday. Well done to those taking part: Sienna, Summer, Olivia S, Aadil, Rory J, Rory M, Theo, Florence and Olivia W. We were so proud of how they supported each other in every race and behaved impeccably.

Nursery & Reception did their very first assembly this year and how proud we all were of them all, standing and speaking in front of the whole of Prep and showing off their beautiful artwork. Thank you to both Miss White and Mrs Geisler.

Our Stars of the week this week are:

  • N/R - Skye - for resilience when getting changed.
  • 1/2 - Phoebe - for perserverance with her reading.
  • 3/4 - Elina - for being a great model to all in her class.
  • 5 - Olivia - for super confidence and focus during lessons.
  • 6 - Oliver - for brilliant acting and narration in our class play rehearsals.
Don’t forget to book onto our Family Art Morning on Saturday 8th November from 10am-12pm.

On our very first day back, Monday 3rd November, we are very lucky to have Danny Butler visiting our school. He is a GB Mountain Biker and all of the children are taking part in a sponsored fitness circuit with Danny, followed by a Q&A session. All of the children have been sent home with sponsorship forms and there is a prize for the class that raises the most money, the majority of which will go towards new sports equipment for our school.  Thank-you Mr Swain for organising this.

Thank you to all of you for your ongoing support. We have had a great start to the year. Enjoy the rest over half term and we look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks.  We have lots of exciting things planned in the next half term in the lead up to Christmas.

Have a great holiday all,

Mrs Mao and Prep Team.

Lastly...But on a very serious note.

We all have a duty to drive safely and responsibly through the village and of course,
on the school site!

I received a complaint today. Not from the village, but from a concerned Bowbrook parent. Citing speed, carelessness and a lack of awareness of pupils on the drive. Please, please drive at under 30 through the village and under 10 on school site. Please be aware that pupils will be crossing. Thank you.

Have a great half term everyone…
