Useful Dates
Sports News

Thank you all for your considerable efforts with mocks, Christingle, rehearsals, fixtures, clubs, report writing and the rest this week.  A busy few days and a few more to come!

Very well done to Year 11 for a tough week of GCSE mock exams!
You can have a little break now, receive some feedback and enjoy the end of the Christmas term.

We can now all look forward to The Carol Service in Pershore Abbey on Thursday, as well as the
Infants Nativity and our Christmas Fayre on Friday!

Please see below for key dates and times to help you plan over the next two busy but exciting
week.

Donations Week.
Please see flyer attached and below for donations for the Christmas Fayre all this week.

Carol Service

Thursday 4th December 7pm
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our Carol Service on Thursday 4th December at 7pm.

All children in Years 3-9 are directly involved and are expected to attend in the evening in
full school uniform. In addition, there are a number of Year 10 and 11 students who are also directly involved in ensembles and choirs etc. Please could instrumentalists arrive at the Abbey at 6.15 to tune their instruments, thank you. All other students are to arrive by 6.45.

During the day on Thursday, all involved will be rehearsing at the Abbey. We would appreciate students arriving at school on time so that we may leave promptly. Those not at the Abbey in the
evening will remain at school. We have very few students not going from years 3 to 9 which is
excellent. Thank you. If there are any late changes, please let your child’s tutor know so we can plan appropriately, although we hope that there won’t be any changes. There are a number of middle and senior school students who will be staying at the Abbey through to the afternoon and will require a packed lunch. Please look out for a portal email advising if this is the case for your child.

We look forward to seeing many of your there for what is always such a wonderful occasion!

Candy Canes!

We’ve sold over 150 candy canes so lots of people are showing their appreciation of
friends and even staff in our fundraising campaign for Shelter. There is just one more
week to get your candy canes from our Year 9 DofE participants – they will be
continuing to sell them during registration and in short break. £1 each – remember to
write the name and Form of the recipient on the tag. The candy canes will be
distributed in the last week of term. Thank you for your support!

Art News

A full and busy week in the Art rooms with mock exams (well done, year 11!!), KS3
and 4 clubs, putting together the Nativity set for the prep school and finishing the
decorations for the Worcester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival.

This week we also delivered our handmade wreath to Pershore Abbey for their first ever Christmas Wreath Festival. Ours has been produced with the traditional values
of Bowbrook in mind and has been designed by students to represent the school’s
newly introduced diamond logo, which formed part of our 70th anniversary
celebrations last year. To support our environmental pledges, the wreath has also been created using recycled, upcycled and donated items.

There will be lots of wreaths in the festival created by different school and community
groups and if you would like to go along, they will be on display for Advent, from Friday
28th November to Monday 5th January, in the side aisles.

Annie jr

Many thanks to all cast members for all of their efforts and to the parents for their support with rehearsals this half term. We have one rehearsal left on Tuesday 2nd December for the following cast members. Please meet Mrs Ford in SCHOFIELD . Pick up time is 5pm. If you have Orchestra, please go to that instead. Annie, Warbucks, Grace, Drake, Mrs Pugh, Mrs Greer, Cecille, Annette, Marie, Chauffeur The Annie Jr. Production Team

Worcester Foodbank donations

Many thanks for the generous donations so far. Please continue to bring bags or
individual items until 5th December. All donations should be taken to the drop off point
which is downstairs in Art.

Christingle

J3/4 hosted the Prep School Christingle service this morning and did a fabulous job! Pupils performed in readings, poems and songs and all contributed to a
lovely event.
Christmas spirit and orange zest are wafting through school! Many thanks to Penny Mills for her
contribution signing Oh Holy Night.

Lots of happy parents and grandparents!

Friday Afternoon Cooking

Well done to our excellent young chefs who have worked very hard in cookery this
term. The Christmas cakes made today are magnificent and were a fun way to end
this terms cooking activity.

News from the Prep School

What a festive week – with the fabulous J3/4 hosting the Prep School Christingle at
the church in the village. They did an absolutely amazing job – readings, poems,
prayers and even a giant orange! Thank you to Mrs Izod for supporting us with it and
also Penny Mills for a beautiful rendition of O Holy Night. Thank you so much to our
parents and grandparents that came along to support the children – they loved having
you there.

The festive feeling continued with Mrs Perkins accompanying Sienna and Summer on
the piano in our Prep Assembly later that day. They played a selection of Christmas
carols to us all. Well done to both of them.

Our Stars of the week this week are:

  • N/R: Charlie - for fantastic singing in Nativity rehearsals
  • 1/2 - Phoebe - for brilliant singing n our Nativity rehearsals
  • 3&4 - Jake - for working hard on his reading
  • 5 - Billy - determination in English
  • 6 - Beau - for working really hard on Fractions this week

We have had several taster children in Prep this week and I am so proud of our
children and how they have been warm and welcoming to them all.

Next week is another very busy week and lots to look forward to – Nativity, Christmas
Fayre, Abbey carol service….

Please do remember to send in sweets in a jar for J5 for the Christmas Fayre and do
let Miss White and Mrs Hellawell know if you would like a ticket for the Nativity.
Have a lovely weekend all
