News from the Prep School
Welcome back to the summer term in the Prep School. You should by now have received your form letter from your class teacher outlining topics and key events taking place this term
We have a lot to look forward to with trips, as well as consolidating our work as pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 complete Key Stage 1 and 2.
Some dates to be noted:
I1 / 2 begin swimming on 23rd April (10 week block).
J5 & J6 have their residential trip to Cuffley, 10th – 12th June
School Summer Fayre – 21st June
Summer Concert – 3rd July
Prep School Sports and Speech Day – 5th July
Many pupils have returned to school in their summer uniform which is lovely, please remember that girls should be wearing white socks with summer dresses.

ART ROOM NEWS
YEAR 11 Artists
My thanks and congratulations go to the Year 11 artists who worked so very hard in the last week of term on their GCSE exam. It is a huge challenge to work through the 10 hour session, where they complete the artworks for the final part of their course. This year, the pupils were just fabulous and I was very proud of their hard work, fantastic attitude and effort. We look forward to putting all their work into our display in the hall later in the term. Look out for this exhibition.
WORCESTER WADDLE
We are very excited having selected the winning entry this week for the decoration of our baby penguin and work will begin in earnest on this now. I will display the lovely work made by pupils for their entries next week. The winning pupil and other who were ‘highly commended’ for the penguin designs will receive certificates in assembly on Tuesday.
PAST PUPIL SUCCESS
Congratulations to Charlotte Fletcher, one of our recent past pupils, who has continued her passion which started within her work for her GCSE Art theme. Her favourite media is photography and she has gone on to document well loved areas in Worcester in a published photo-booklet. The photographs are beautiful. I will display these in our dining room gallery area so that our pupils can take a look. Well done, Charlotte.

Music News
Welcome back to the Summer term! Most instrumental lessons have begun and all will be in full swing next week. Please contact me if your child hasn’t received their timetable. Please can students in the middle and senior school be more responsible in attending their lessons at the correct day and time this term; lesson times should be written into their homework diary weekly.
Music Extra-Curricular Activities begin next week and we are looking forward to seeing full attendance this term. If you any students in J5, J6, M7 and M8 enjoy singing and would like to join Lower Chamber Choir on a Monday from 4-5, then they would be most welcome.
Stars of the Week: Congratulations to George Duggan and Lucy Kirkham in M9 who have both passed their first piano exam. This is great achievement; very well done to both!
Prep Stars of the term: Congratulations to Hudson Hartwell in N/R, Eretria Bolt I1, Adam Haines I2, Harry Stephens J3, Aadil Haque J4, Adam Baker J5 and Harper Lily Hartwell.

Paris trip reflections
Many parents will already have seen pictures and heard accounts of our action-packed weekend in Paris. Here are a few other reflections and highlights. The traffic on the M25 was better than expected allowing us to catch an earlier ferry and giving us an extended lunch stop at Mr Bell’s favourite “Flunch”. The baguettes proved very popular.
On Saturday, I was delighted to see so many students taking the opportunity to try out their French at the market. There were plenty of snacks and souvenirs bought and there were some huge chunks of watermelon consumed before returning to the coach. We were lucky to be able to buy tickets to the top of the Eiffel Tower but unfortunately the fine weather broke as we were at the second stage and the hail-storm and long queue meant a curtailed visit. After a coach tour of the sights we were back for dinner and a very competitive quiz.
Sunday brought the long-awaited Disneyland with fine weather allowing us to make the most of both parks. The evening meal included a tasting of “escargots” for the bravest and an evening farewell disco.
Monday allowed one final shopping opportunity before the return home.
I would like to thank the members of staff who gave up their weekend to accompany the trip and a thank you to the students who helped make their job easier.
