Open day
A huge thank you to all the pupils (and staff) who helped with the Open Day today. 17 families visiting with potentially 23 children and some very good leads.
What was impressive were the Years 8,9 and 10s who ‘guided’. Year 11 came along in their break and lunchtime to talk to visitors too. Overwhelmingly our visitors thought the manners, maturity and pride of our pupils shone through… Well done and thank you!
PE and Games

Art Room News
Arts Week had an exciting launch in assembly this week with students finding out all about what will be on offer from 10th-14th February.
The theme this year is ‘Body and Mind; our physical and emotional wellbeing’.
Bespoke workshops delivered by Bowbrook staff and external visitors, break and lunchtime activities, themed lunches as well as opportunities to explore creatively in lessons are all on offer.
Bowbrook’s Got Talent will take place on the Wednesday afternoon and students are encouraged to sign up this week. The Animal Man will be with us on Tuesday as well as EmPower and Art and Nature Therapy on Thursday.
Students have been given the details of the competitions on offer and are asked to enter a minimum of 2. There will be lots of prizes and rewards and a ‘Showcase’, celebrating the week, for family and friends on the afternoon of Friday 14th February, so please get the date in your diary.

Music Enews
Extra-Curricular: Music Extra-Curricular is beginning again next week starting with Lower Chamber Choir on Monday at 4pm. Please note the earlier finish time of 4.45 for Lower Chamber. All new members are welcome!
Junior Samba Drumming Club
Please keep an eye out for letters going home shortly inviting students in the Junior School to attend Mr Booton’s drumming club. If your child would like to attend, please return the reply slip attached to the office, thank you.
Star of the Week: Felicity Grace-Clark for her excellent contributions towards our Film Music studies this week. Well done Felicity!
Prep school news
Another busy week in Prep this week. It was so lovely to go and see what the children have been doing across our classes. Take a look….
Infants have been making bird feeders; Year 3 writing poems about Rainforest animals; Year 4 creating their own settlements and thinking about what creates their distinct community identity; Year 5 have been creating some fab Islamic art and Year 6 have created a comparative timeline of the Ancient Maya civilisation and British history over this period – Mrs Farr was very impressed!
We had a lovely assembly led by Miss Cox yesterday, using Winnie the Pooh characters as examples of different types of feelings that we may have. The Stars of the week this week are:
- Infants - Hudson - for a super start to the term
- Year 3 - Iris - for a lovely talk about tennis
- Year 4 - Mabel - working really hard at her Maths
- Year 5 - Olivia S - for a great Science presentation
- Year 6 - Adam and Will - for producing fantastic comparative timelines of the Maya civilisation and British history during this time
Clubs and music peri lessons started this week too. Some went to Recorders, Nature Ninjas, Yoga, Reading club, Rugby, Dance or Prep Council.
We were so proud of all the children today talking to our many visitors.
