Bowbrook Newsletter 2026
Well, it certainly felt like the summer term has started. Lots of ‘outdoor lessons’ and
Year 11 revising in the sun! Athletics practises, cricket nets and lunchtime ‘mass
rounders’. The flip side of that is that external exams have officially started for Year
11! We wish them all the very best for their GCSEs.

Art News
To celebrate David Attenborough’s 100 Years on Planet Earth we are launching a
WHOLE SCHOOL Photography competition for all students from nursery to year
11, as well as staff and parents! Our Arts Captains will be speaking in assemblies
this week to talk further about how to enter and to give some ideas and inspirations
for your photographs

Year 11: As they leave the Art rooms for the final time today, one last well done and
thank you to the year 11 Art students who have worked so hard and independently

Activities:
STEM Friday activity group have started making BMFA Darts after an introduction to
the activity focusing on aerodynamics this term.

Prep School News
What a Wonderful Week in Prep!
We’ve had a fantastic week in Prep School.
The weather has been superb, giving us lots of opportunity to enjoy our learning both
indoors and outside. Our Singing Assembly was a real joy, with the children singing
confidently and proudly for everyone to enjoy.
A big well done to our Stars of the Week –

- 5 - Theo - for great participation in lessons
- 6 - Ollie - for writing a fantastic speech
It has also been lovely to welcome families into school for Stay and Play sessions again this
week.
We’ve also enjoyed welcoming taster and transition children into Prep this week. The
children have been wonderful role models, helping everyone feel happy and settled.
A special mention goes to Dani, who proudly shared her dad’s London Marathon
medal with us. He is raising money for children with cancer. If you would like to sponsor

We look forward to welcoming a student teacher, Miss Small, to Infants next week for her
teaching placement from the University of Worcester. She will primarily be in Mrs
Hellawell’s class.
Mrs Mills and I are running a joint photo competition to celebrate Sir David
Attenborough’s 100th Birthday. The Arts captains will be launching it in our Assembly next
week, which Mr Mills will be doing. We hope that all children from Nursery to Year 11 will
participate.
Finally, a reminder not to forget our Open Week next week – we’re really looking forward
to welcoming visitors and celebrating all the great things that happen at Bowbrook every
day.
