Welcome to this week’s edition of the Bowbrook News.

It has been another busy and enjoyable week at school, with plenty going on—do take a look at the highlights below. As we move into the final weeks of the Summer Term, the calendar begins to fill up, so we encourage you to refer to the attached Key Dates and timings to help you plan ahead and feel prepared for all that’s to come.

As always, if you are unsure about anything or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—we are always very happy to help.

No PE department news but look forward to a full roundup next week.

Middle and Senior School Exam Week from 22nd June

S10 delivered an informative and helpful revision assembly this week, sharing practical advice and guidance with their peers. Tutors have also been working closely with pupils to emphasise the importance of finding the right balance between effective exam preparation and maintaining a healthy, positive approach.

All pupils should now have their exam timetable for the week. However, if you or your child have any questions or would like further reassurance, please do get in touch with the Form Tutor, who will be very happy to help and offer support.

Summer Concert: Wednesday 1st July – 7pm

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Summer Concert on the 1st July. The letter has been sent out with details and key information but is also attached here for your convenience.

DofE Bronze and Silver Expeditions

Student News

Last weekend saw an exceptionally successful Bronze expedition for Year 9 in Shropshire. They all passed with flying colours, minimal fuss, maximal resilience and tired legs! Well done to all involved and to the accompanying staff.

DofE Bronze and Silver Expeditions

We wish the Silver DofE group the very best of luck this weekend. They are underway and will be camping Thursday to Sunday with three days of walking, accompanied by Mrs Ford, Mr Bell and Mr Allen (who is very happy about spending three nights in a tent!). We’re sure you will overcome the challenge and emerge victorious. Best of luck and fingers crossed for the weather!

Fees in Advance - Final Reminder from Mrs Hunt

This is the last call for parents who wish to take advantage of the 2% discount available for advance payment of next year’s fees. You are asked to return the Invoice Requirements Form, or email Mrs Hunt, by Friday 19 June at the latest.

Thank you.

Art News

This week has seen a successful visit from the OCR external moderator and an ISA Digital Art competition achievement! Huge congratulations to Sally for coming 2nd place with her landscape inspired piece.

ISA Digital Art competition

Year 6 have also spent their 2nd week in the art rooms creating exciting, textured backgrounds ready for their ‘dandelion’ masterpieces next lesson. The work is inspired by Claude Monet’s lesser-known dandelion series and I’m looking forward to seeing how these develop in the coming weeks!

Finally, I am really excited to invite you to the 2026 GCSE Art Exhibition on Wednesday 8th July.

Year 10 and 11 artworks will be on display in Schofield throughout the day for us to all enjoy and to celebrate the achievements and successes of our students.

Music E-News

We were very fortunate on Thursday afternoon to welcome Ms Sinclair-Wilding; our harp teacher who gave a wonderful performance to our Prep school as well as a little talk about the harp and its’ features. The children were awed by her beautiful playing and were full of lots of questions. Thank you, Ms Sinclair. Some children have taken home with them an information letter about learning the harp at Bowbrook. If your child didn’t receive one and you would like one, please let me know.

Congratulations! To all of the children who performed on Thursday afternoon. It is very well recognized how hard it is to stand in front of an audience and to have the confidence to perform. All of our musicians did a superb job – really well done! Many children performing for the firts time.

Congratulations to: Elena Svancara, Camilla Mackay, Ben Twigg, Emily Williamson, Roux Moss, Beau Clarke, Rory Jackson, Tom Thorneywork, Millie Siviter and Rory Mason.

Orchestra – Please note that Orchestra will be rehearsing until 5.30 next week for those who are able to stay that bit longer. This is in preparation for our summer concert.

Upper Chamber Choir – Choir will also be rehearsing until 5.30 next week for those who can stay until then. It is not a problem if some children need to leave at 5pm.

Thank you, Mrs Izod

Prep News
What a super week we've had in Prep!

We had a Music Prep School Showcase on Thursday, where ten of our children from different year groups performed in front of the whole of Prep, as well as some parents who were invited in. We were so proud of each and every one of them, as for some it was the first time they had ever performed. They were all at different stages of their music journeys, some just one month in and some much longer. Please do check out our socials for a snippet of the afternoon. Big thank-you to Mrs Izod and the peripatetic teachers for all this.

Scholastic Book Fair has arrived! We had several visitors today in J3 in the Junior block. There are lots of lovely books to choose from, plus bookmarks and other bits and pieces. It is open again on Monday and Tuesday of next week from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Do come along!

Years 5 and 6 are getting excited, doing their final preparations for our Condover residential trip. The weather is looking good and the activities look fab!

Stay and Play is back on again next week and the following week. We are looking forward to seeing our families again.

Have a great weekend all. Prep Team
