News from the Prep school
Every class went to do a special World Book activity at our local library in Pershore. The younger children did a book character trail and explored the books and the older children did speed book dating. The Infants were so excited that Miss Cox and Mrs Geisler have decided to get a class library card and take the children back regularly. Did you know there are nearly 20,000 resources down the road from us?!
We had a really fun World Book Day for the entire Prep school on Thursday. Lots of activities across all year groups: book genre cafe; book treasure hunt; reading ambassadors reading book extracts; guess the fairy tale character games and making props from books to name a few. The children came in to school with some fabulous costumes and we had a costume parade in our assembly, with winners from each year group.
Today we had a special assembly with Mr Allen – where he awarded all the Arts Week certificates to the Prep children. It was fabulous to see so many awards for such a variety of categories…film competitions. Bowbrook’s Got Talent; mandala designs; dance; photography etc.
Our Stars of the week this week are:
- Infants: Skye - for super work in phonics
- Year 3: Adam - for fantastic reading
- Year 4: Megan - for always giving 100% in everything
- Year 5: Sienna - for excellent reading progress
- Year 6: Jack - for producing a fantastic story plan
We also had our first Spring ‘Stay and Play’ sessions and we welcomed 18 parents and their children to our Forest School area. Thank-you to Mrs Geisler for the lovely set up – there are so many fun activities on offer for the children to explore with their parents. It was delightful to see familiar faces and welcome new ones.
Next week is British Science Week, so lots more exciting things planned …
Don’t forget parents’ evening on Thursday!
Have a super weekend everyone.

Congratulations to Zara (Year 11) as she competed in the West Midlands Regional Rowing Championships at Hereford last Sunday, winning a bronze medal with her quad from Evesham Rowing Club. They rowed 1.8 km in 6.27mins.
