Yet another very busy and creative half term has come to an end, filled with sculpture, clay work, painting, textiles, photography and a great range of competitions. Well done to all and congratulations to those named on the Half Term 5 Hall of Fame.

Calling all gardeners! We need YOU!
I am very excited to announce that Bowbrook will soon have its own allotment! This is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to grow their own vegetables, putting their scientific knowledge to the test! The allotment will also be used to support the new Food and Nutrition course being offered from September 2026.
In order to make the allotment a huge success, I would be grateful of donations please! Do you have any of the following?

Spare tools gathering dust in a corner of your shed?

Sleepers, sleeping soundly, and dreaming of becoming a raised bed?

A polytunnel, growing weeds rather than delicious vegetables?
-
Perennial fruit and vegetable plants which need dividing?

Pots and trays cluttering corners of your potting shed?

And finally… a small tractor/rotovator (or even some man power!) to help Mr Hunt and Mr Shearman clear the area?

News From the Prep School
The children have made the most of the sunshine this week and some have even been swimming in the pool.
There were two very exciting costume days in Prep this week. 3/4 had a super Viking day – where they ran amok around Peopleton and ended up by burning their ship. Do take a look at our socials for a fabulous video of their day. 1/2 had a fun Around the world Day today, with all the children dressing up to represent the 7 continents. When I popped down the children were sampling different foods from around the world and there is a collaborative art piece which is displayed in the Infants window. Do take a look after half term and keep on socials for photos.
1/2 led the assembly this week – all about Continents – they presented their different continent to the Prep school.

- 3/4 - Camilla - for making a great Viking warrior
- 5 - Ariel - for her enthusiasm to learn
- 6 - Joseph - for making a fantastic clay character called Rock

Infants Special
Year 1/2 had an exciting “Trip Around the World” Day, filled with creativity, exploration and teamwork. We began our journey in sunny Africa, where the children painted beautiful savannah scenes, thinking carefully about the colours, animals and landscapes found there.
Next, we visited our very own “Continent Café”, where we explored a range of foods from around the world. The children had the opportunity to look at and discuss ingredients from Asia, North America, South America and Africa, including ginger, coconut, bananas and avocado. They talked about what they liked and didn’t like — using their Spanish vocabulary to share their opinions.
Later in the day, the children became engineers as they took part in three exciting STEM challenges. Working in teams, they investigated structures from around the world and put their problem-solving skills to the test. They worked hard to build the tallest tower using spaghetti and marshmallows, create the strongest bridge using paper and cardboard, and construct the longest wall using wooden and plastic blocks.
It was a fantastic day of learning, discovery and global exploration!
