Hot off the Press:
Around 40 former pupils and many parents too came back for this evening’s Old Boys/Old Girls football and Netball fixtures.
It is so rewarding to hear of A levels, Universities, Internships, Apprenticeships and the new challenges they are embracing! The atmosphere was one of fierce competition played in excellent spirit and it was a delight to welcome so many pupils back.
Results:
Old Boys football: The Old Boys beat the U16’s by 3-1.
Old Girls Netball: The School U16’s Won by 20 – 17
Two splendid competitions and much reminiscing! Especially the 2025 Maths Flag!!
Art News
All KS4 art clubs continue next week as usual with an another 4-6pm session for year 11 students on Wednesday 18th March and an additional Thursday lunch clay club for selected year 10 students.
Well done to those students who did not travel to Paris last weekend for your creation of lovely outcomes in Art, exploring your own canvases with a journey through Impressionism.
Don’t forget to start your entries for the ISA Digital Art Competition. Do come and see Mrs Mills if you have questions or want to talk about your ideas.
If you love Sports and Arts, we also have an additional competition, to design the artwork for the covers of the ISA national sporting programmes. The deadline for this is Tuesday 24th March. See below and attached for details!
Next week there will be lots of printmaking and modroc sculpting by years 7 and 8. If you have old newspapers at home that you could donate, please bring them up to the Art rooms to save the tables!!.

News From the Prep School
What a way to end our great week off! We had our British Science Week Curriculum Alive day today.
Years 1 to 6 were mixed up into four different groups and they went off to do different Science activities around Prep school, led by Mrs Hellawell, Miss Tait, Mrs Thorneywork and Mrs Mao. The day focused on Curiosity as this is the theme for 2026 and all activities had a focused enquiry question, where children got to build nests as birds using their beaks, design and make boats to test, protect a raw egg from a drop and examine the world close up under microscopes.
Nursery and Reception explored four different Science questions too. They completed a symmetry challenge, an experiment to show why soap is so important, as well as making worms dance and creating an exploding monster!
Do keep an eye on socials as we will share some of the photos from today.
1/2 did a Blue Cross ‘Pets and their habitats’ live lesson, which links to their Science learning. They explored the adaptations of rabbits, dogs, cats and horses.

We had Chicks visiting the classes this week, as well as the super Zoo Day, organised by Mrs Robinson. Thank-you to the families that brought in ponies, dogs, sheep, rabbits etc!
Next week we have Comic Relief today on Friday, when the children are able to wear one item of clothing that is red for a £1 donation, as well as buying a doughnut for a £1 donation at breaktime. It is also our Open Day, so a very busy day!
