RIP Vera
Vera along with Gracie was given to school by Mr Steve Calvert our former groundsman and handyman. Steve unfortunately passed away in 2017 and in the latter stages of his illness donated Vera and Gracie to the pupils of the School. Making sure that I promised they would not be eaten!
Vera and Gracie were about five years old when they moved in in 2016. When we lost Gracie in 2019 the vet assured me that Vera would not last long as pigs are generally not solitary animals. Well Vera has thrived in the last four years and she passed away peacefully asleep in her sty.
A firm fixture for Forest School and outdoor learning and much pampered by pupils from all year groups as well as staff Vera will be missed…she was a real character!
