GCSE Success – an A* year!
Congratulations to the S11 of 2013 as they have managed to get the best results yet at GCSE. Statistics are always rightly taken with a pinch of salt especially when dealing with ‘small’ year groups. However that makes our record pass rate and A* rate all the more remarkable this year as with 29 Year 11s this was one of our biggest leaving classes.
Pass rate at 5+ GCSE including English and Maths: 62%
Overall pass rate in all GCSEs at C+: 78.5%
% of A/A* grades: a record breaking 31.5%
A third of all grades, of all GCSEs taken were A or A*. A pretty good statistic when you think of our inclusivity and ‘non-selective’ intake.
For the third successive year the school appeared in both the Time and the Telegraph.
281st in The Times for A/A* grades and 342nd in The Telegraph for all independent schools (many of whom are of course highly selective).
From the support given to our weakest students to stretching the very brightest I am extremely proud of all the pupils and their results and very grateful to all the staff for their hard work.
We as a staff were very proud of the pupil’s achievements…now inevitably our attention turns to the ‘new’ S11!
