GCSE Results
G.C.S.E. results: Year 11:
Congratulations to last years S11 on their GCSE’s. Statistics are always taken with a pinch of salt especially when dealing with a statistically small exam cohort but overall we were very pleased. The class worked hard and deserved their results. We bucked the National trends particularly in English and were very pleased for the outgoing S11:
Statistically: A*-G: 100%
Overall Pass rate at GCSE: 84%
A*-C pass rate on short course GCSEs: 86%
Number with 5+ passes at full GCSE A*-C: 82%
5 or more GCSEs at A*-C including English and Maths: 68%
% of A* and A grades across all GCSEs: 24%! I would hope that this figure will again place us in the Times’ top 1000 school in the country for the second successive year.
These results obviously reflect very well on last year’s S11 and they should be proud of their achievements. I believe it also reflects very well on the school and on our teaching staff, they too should be very pleased with their efforts.
G.C.S.E. module results: Year 10:
Congratulations to S10 who achieved some very successful module results and who now have between 25% and 50% of their GCSEs ‘in the bank’ for next summer. As you may have heard on the news this is the last cohort who will face this modular structure for their examinations.
These are ‘early’ modules we were very pleased with the overall pass rate with many candidates giving themselves every chance of further success next summer in their terminal papers. Nearly 30% of the marks being of an A or A* equivalent, although it should be stressed these are not ‘grades’ but marks towards their final grades, it still bodes extremely well for next summer. Well done the ‘new’ Year 11!
