Excellent GCSE Results 2020

Headmaster ‘reflective’ on achievements of Year 11 this year.

Overall pass rate: 92.4%

90.6% achieved 5+ GCSE passes

87.5% achieving 5+ GCSEs including English and Maths

25.7% achieving the highest grades.

100% pass rate in Maths, English Lit, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Art and Physical Education.

A great set of results under extremely stressful circumstances. I know that Parents, Pupils and Staff were very pleased with the outcomes this year.

Against a backdrop of National pandemic and cancelled exams. I am extremely grateful to all my staff who worked incredibly hard under challenging and changing circumstances to provide the best possible outcomes for their Year 11 pupils.

Statistics only tell half the story and so many pupils had already succeeded prior to ‘results’ day. Confidence, self esteem, self belief, manners, emotional and social skills and emotional resilience are equally as important, but it is nice to see this year group recognised ‘on paper’ offically as well by their exam success.

For some it has been a very long journey through from our prep school, for others the journey has only been two or three years; but it is no less rewrding…
