Congratulations to all our Year 11 leavers of 2024

Staff are again ‘delighted’ with GCSE results.

The results are a reflection of the pupils’ hard work and resilience in trying circumstances.

For the second year running, these rank amongst our best ever results and are due to a collaborative effort between conscientious pupils and very dedicated staff. My congratulations to all of our Year 11 leavers of 2024.

What is very impressive, given the non-selective nature of the school’s cohort, is that 12 out of 15 subjects on offer, including English language, achieved 100% pass rates at grade 4+. We have seen a rise in our top grades, 7+, again this year to 42% which is fantastic. We are pleased for all the pupils.

In Numbers:

Total GCSE passes at grade 4 and above 93%

5 GCSEs inc Eng and Maths 93%

As a non-selective school, we are very much invested in the individual journey and there are pupils for whom a Grade 4 was always going to be a stretch. But we value their contribution to school music, plays, sports teams, House Captains or prefects and we both recognise and celebrate their individual achievement against their own targets…Well done ALL of S11!
