Outstanding GCSE results for the class of 2021
I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate the Year 11, the class of 2021 on their GCSE results.
It has indeed been an extraordinary year but as a year group they have faced every turn of events with aplomb and never once complained.
As a staff we are incredibly proud of the fact that they continued to work hard right up until the end. It should be understood that having such a solid evidence base in place, as demanded by the process and rigour of awarding grades this year, they have truly earnt these results. No one can take that hard work and attainment from them. We are incredibly proud of them and we all wish them well on the next stage of their educational journey, wherever that might take them.
Parents of the school might like to know how we have done – I am very, very proud and pleased for the pupils and of the Staff with these results (there were 31 pupils in this years’ Year 11):
% of grades at Grade 4 and above = 96%
% of GCSE grades at Grade 4 inc. English & Maths = 93.5%
5 of grades at 7+ = 30%
% of pupils with 5 or more Grade 4s = 93.5%
Maths, English Literature, Triple Sciences, History, Geography, Art, Business Studies, ICT; as subjects all these achieved a 100% pass rate. Nearly one third of all GCSEs sat were passed at 7+ (old A/A*) that is 78/259. We are not a ‘selective’ independent school and these really are very impressive results. Please do feel free to tell your friends!
There were some incredible individual journeys and many of whom we were proud and who have maximised their potential and who have overcome personal adversity. A special mention to Isaac McManus who achieved 9 Grade 9s. Well done, Isaac and well done to ALL of Year 11, Class of 2021.
