Bowbrook French day
C'est très magnifique a Bowbrook!
Infant pupils at Bowbrook House School have celebrated their language learning by enjoying a fabulous French Day.
Children from Nursery through to Year 2 at Bowbrook House School, have been learning French in their weekly lessons throughout the Autumn term. Today they were very excited to use their new language skills in a french cafe. This was set up in an Infants classroom with their teachers acting as the waiters. Mrs Ridge, the Head of Prep School, payed the Infants a visit and relaxed with the children in ‘Le café de Paris’.
In the morning the children made their own croissants to enjoy later in the cafe. They completed STEM challenges in teams, constructing famous Parisian landmarks, such as the Eiffel Tower. They joined in with French stories, such as La chenille fait des trous (The very hungry caterpillar), sang songs and played fun games.
“The children had an absolutely fabulous day,” said Mrs Ridge, Head of Prep School.
“The croissants were really yummy!” said Ryder, Year 1.
“The cafe is amazing, I love it!” said Elena, Year 2.
“I loved my strawberries and croissant!” said Max, Nursery.
Miss White and Mrs Mao, Infant Teachers, both said how wonderful it was to hear the children using their French vocabulary skills to order in the french cafe. It was a super, fun day.
The children are now moving on to learning Spanish in their weekly lessons and the teachers are already planning a Spanish day for later in the year.
