Art Room News
Students have settled quickly back into the Art room routines and KS3 classes have been creating exciting work towards a collaborative Remembrance Day installation, which will be in place on Monday.
Clubs
Key Stage 3 Art club continues on Monday lunchtime and Key Stage 4 Art GCSE students are welcome in the Art rooms this week on Monday, 4-5pm, and Tuesday lunchtime. Please note that the Thursday KS4 club is not on this week due to year 7 parents evening.
Arts Captains
Congratulations to the following students who have been selected to join the Arts Council as Arts Captains and support Bowbrook in all of our creative endeavours. Their badges will be awarded in assembly in the coming weeks:
Year 8: Rosie and Jess
Year 9: Harry and Lilybelle
Year 10: Tom
Festival of Trees
Bowbrook will be exhibiting a Christmas Tree this year at the Festival of Trees, which takes place in the Cloisters at Worcester Cathedral. Our theme is ‘Environment’ and our tree will be created from upcycled and recycled materials.We are looking for donations of baubles and tree decorations that are no longer wanted between now and 27th November. Any donations can be left in the box downstairs in the Art department.
Worcester Waddle
The Bowbrook penguin is now off the trail and back in school. He will be moving around the site over the coming weeks, so keep your eyes open and see if you can find him!
Foodbank donations:
Please see the flyer attached. Any donations can be brought to school between Monday 18th and Friday 22nd November. All donations are gratefully received and should be left downstairs in the Art rooms.

French exchange update
Request for host families
Many thanks to those parents and students who have offered to host a French student from 24th to 28th March next year. I have received letters from the French school. As always, they are very keen to visit us so I still would like another 7 host families. If any family would be able to feed and lend a bedroom to a French student for those dates, please contact Mr Whittingham. There is no obligation to make the return visit, although that is very much still a possibility.
News from the Prep School
We had our very first Stay and Play session, where 12 toddlers and their parents were invited in to explore, play and learn in our Forest School. Mrs Geisler has done a super job in there – there is a music station with wooden spoons, pots and pans; an archaeological dig; a pod full of exciting toys; an Italian cafe mud kitchen; water and sand play area; as well as some super crafts. It was lovely to be able to welcome visitors into our beautiful outdoor space.
Please do let friends and family know about this initiative.
Nativity singing can be heard from corridors and the Infants are busy practising their roles!
Thank you to Year 3 today for a wonderful assembly. It was a fabulous news broadcast, where they were reporting on Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot.
Well done also to many children in Year 4 who completed their Autumn Reading Challenge, that was set by Miss Tait.
Our Stars of the Week this week are:

- Year 4 - Ruth - for a positive attitude in class
- Year 5 - Summer - for writing an excellent book review
- Year 6 - Max - for being a super poet
Starting next week we are very lucky to have Hannah in Juniors, who is doing some work experience on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Do say hi if you see her.
