A very busy and exciting end to the half term.

My thanks to the Parents’ Committee for the fantastic Prep School Halloween Disco and to Mr Mills and his team for the Year 7&8 version later in the evening. I hear that Years 9, 10 & 11 are now wanting a Christmas Disco next half term, so that is something to look forward to…

Half term effort grades will have come home today for Years 5 – 11.
We will return after the October half term in Winter Uniform.
All parents from Years (2) 3 – 11 will have received the new ‘laptop criteria’ should you be thinking of buying/replacing a laptop for school.
Random Question: Do you have a donkey by any chance?!

Have a great half term everyone.

(Remember Pupils are back on Thursday 2nd November.)

Paris Visit - update and correction

PGL have been able to find some extra places and we are now fully booked for 47 pupils and 5 members of staff for our visit (22nd to 25th March). Thank you to parents who have pointed out a mistake in my initial letter. The second payment of £140 is due on or before Friday, 17th November, with the final £140 by Friday, 8th December.

As yet we have no specific times, but I would expect that we will leave early on the morning of the 22nd and be back early evening on the 25th, judging by previous trips.

Flash Academy update
We have had a technical problem with Flash Academy accounts. These should be resolved over the half-term break and we will be back up and running after the holiday.

Music News

Harvest Festival:  Our Infant and Junior Choirs sang beautifully at Peopleton Church on Thursday. Along with our seasonal hymns, Infant Choir sang a jolly piece entitled ‘First The Little Roots Grow’ and Junior Choir sang a gentle, reflective piece, ‘Let’s Harvest!’ Please ask your child to give you a rendition at home; they really were lovely.

Instrumental Lessons: Instrumental lessons begin again on Monday 6th November. Timetables will be come home with the children on Friday 3rd November.

Infant and Junior Music Stars of the Half Term: Congratulations to Hudson Hartwell in Reception, Jonas Ford and Iris Cates in I1&2, Megan Harris in J3, Sienna and Summer Comens in J4, Leo Maciej-Clarke in J5 and Luke Drakeley in J6. Very well done to all!

News from the Prep School

We have had a lovely week to end what has been a very busy half term. My thanks to everyone for all of the wonderful Harvest donations that the children brought in to school. The altar in Peopleton Church was absolutely full – I’m sure the Maggs Day Centre will be most grateful. Thank you to our Year 11 Prefects who helped lead the service alongside Year 6.

I would also like to thank our Parent’s Committee who also put on a ‘Spooktacular’ Halloween Disco for our pupils. The children thoroughly enjoyed dressing up, playing the party games and all the pumpkin prizes.

All of the Junior pupils have been challenged with an October Half Term Reading Bingo (see pupil’s planners) they will require parent’s signatures to verify that the challenges have been met.  Prizes will be given  to everyone that has a completed Bingo card.

Have a wonderful half term holiday, recharge your batteries as it’s an even busier half term when we return to school and start to turn our attention to ‘Chr……..’ (sshh we can’t say that word yet!)
