Friday saw the busiest autumn term Open day in the last ten years! 28 sets of parents around in one day which also means that 56 children acted as guides during the day. The overwhelming message from our visitors was how polite, informative and honest our pupils are. And what an obvious pride they display in being able to show visitors around their school. I was incredibly proud of them all. Thank you!
It has been a very busy week. Clubs, activities, assemblies, voting…and the start of school fixtures and House events. Congratulations to Blenheim on retaining the House swimming Cup.
House writing winner will be announced in assembly on Tuesday as will our Prefect and House Captains for the year.

Annie News!
Wow! What a fantastic week. Auditions took place after school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and we were blown away by the standard of all the auditionees.Congratulations to everyone who auditioned for putting yourself out there and having a go. Every single auditionee should be really proud of themselves and it was lovely to see some of the progress shown by individuals as they have moved up the school. With nearly 70 pupils from Year 1 up to Year 10 this is on track to be a truly Whole School show and we’re really excited to get started.
The cast list is expected to be posted on the Annie Noticeboard outside the Hall by the end of Monday. Rehearsals will start next week with a whole cast rehearsal on Thursday 4pm-5pm. We will share a rehearsal schedule during this rehearsal.
Thank you to all the effort put in by everyone who auditioned. We have a fantastic line-up and are confident that everyone will have a chance to shine, whether taking on one of the leading roles, in a smaller part or as part of the ensemble. Thank you also to George Duggan, Lottie Pennington-Fairchild, Amelia Speers and Chloe Mills in S11 for helping the audition process run so smoothly.
Several pupils have asked about other ways to help out. We will share off-stage opportunities soon.

Prep School news
What a lovely week we’ve had in Prep. The children have been busy getting stuck into their topic work, writing diaries, solving Maths challenges, making periscopes and even making models of teeth as part of their Science learning!
Mr Mills did a really fun and informative Prep assembly on Democracy this week, which tied in with The International Day of Democracy on 15th September 2025. The children all got to place a vote on their voting card and put it in the ballot box. They were voting for the choice of tie for Mr Mills on Monday! There were 4 options and once votes were completed, the Year 6 adjudicators counted (in 120 seconds!) and Mr Mills announced the winning tie.

We had a busy day with Years 5 and 6 on Tuesday – some were representing the school in the Swimming Gala, whilst others were in school taking part in the Creative writing house competition. Today was also a very busy day with lots of visitors coming into our classes as part of our Open Day. Our children were so brilliant at speaking to the visitors and showing them their work.
Our Infants went to Lower Smite Farm on Wednesday. They had an amazing day from discovering how seeds travel, making autumn potions and picking orchard apples to building hedgehog nests and making animal prints. A real wild adventure with lots of learning. Do check out our socials for some lovely photos of the day.
We had our first Stay & Play session this week where we welcomed back some families from last year, as well as some new. Please do let friends know if they wish to come along. It runs every Wednesday from 9.30am to 10.30am.

Music Enews
Extra-Curricular – All Music Extra-curricular activities will be taking place next week including Orchestra on a Tuesday after school from 4-5 in the music classroom, Lower Chamber Choir on Monday from 3.45 – 4.15 and Upper Chamber Choir on a Wednesday from 4 – 5pm in the music room.
Please note that Lower Chamber Choir will be taking place at the earlier time of 3.45-4.15 with Miss White. All are welcome between year groups 4-7
