Many thanks and I look forward to seeing you all over the coming few days…
What a wonderful week!
The carol service was very special and a celebration both of our school’s talent but also of our school community and of course, of the Christmas story.
Thank you to all who performed and to those in attendance. From Choirs and Chamber choirs, to ensembles, jazz group and from Boomwhackers to samba band, it showed our breadth and depth of talent.
A very special evening in a wonderful, beautiful building. Thank you to all concerned but of course, especially to Mrs Izod for coordinating the whole event.
The Infants’ nativity was also very special and was wonderfully received. My thanks to all in the lower Prep School who worked on this. I hope to share a folder of both the video and all the rehearsal photos with the Infants this week.
To the Parents’ Committee, a huge thank you for the Christmas fayre and to you all for supporting. A lovely atmosphere, lovely food and a very festive ‘chill’ in the air. I will keep you posted with the final ‘total’ and any proposed projects that the Parents’ Committee will be working on in 2023.
Form Mrs Izod, Re: Carol Service:
I would like to congratulate all of our students who were able take part in the Carol Service on Thursday evening. I’m sure you will agree with me that whether reading, helping, playing in an ensemble or as a soloist, that they all performed beautifully and we are so proud of all of their achievements. Many had been practising hard for months and it was a joy to be able to celebrate and join together again in the Abbey. Thank you for supporting the children leading up to and during this celebration.
Very well done to all!
From Mrs Mellor in the Art dept, Re: The Carol Service Cover:
Designs were really strong this year. It was very hard to choose. We would like to congratulate our final selection designers, Luca De Freitas Pires, S10JR, Max Brackenbury J6NS, Aisha Haque J6SR, Eleanor Wright M7BW and Jasmine Wright J5KT. I think you will all agree, they looked spectacular in print. Prizes and certificates for all our entries will be presented next week in our assembly. Thank you very much everyone.
Mrs Mellor
Prep School News:
Our Nativity ‘Angel Express’ showcased by our youngest members of the Prep school was a great success on Wednesday. All of the pupils enjoyed performing to their parents.
We are also very proud of our Junior pupils. The variety of contributions they made to the Carol service on Thursday evening, from Samba drums to solo singing performances really helped to make it a lovely evening.
Next week the Infants are off to find Santa on Tuesday at West Midlands Safari Park and the Juniors will be having a fun afternoon at the Panto watching ‘Cinderella.’
Please remember that it is Christmas jumper day on Wednesday and pupils should bring in a £2 donation. We will also have our Christmas dinner on this day.
Lots to look forward to as we head towards the end of a very busy term.
