Remembrance:
Mrs Farr’s hot chocolate initiative, helped by S11 raised £187 plus our collection box so probably over £300 for the British Legion. Thank you all very much for your support. The children were immaculate during the silence today.

News from the Prep School
What a busy week we have had in the Prep School, Year 5 and 6 have experienced Victorian school life and been evacuated respectively. Year 6 also took our Prep Assembly to commemorate Armistice day.
The Star Pupil's for this week are:
- N - Skye Worth for settling in so well.
- R - Eretria Bolt for trying so hard in her reading.
- I1 - Iris Cates for being a fab scientist.
- I2 - Ariel Lewsey for super science work.
- J3 - Aadil Haque for being kind and thoughtful.
- J4 - Olivia Greenwood for excellent reading and improved focus.
- J5 - Harper Lily Hartwell for consistently neat work.
- 6SR - Rosie Styles for her kindness and lovely manners.
- 6NS - Penny Mills for her outstanding effort and commitment to school.
Congratulations to everybody.
We also commended Daniela Bille for achieving her Ballet Primary One certificate and Rosalie Bolt for achieving her Accelerated Reader target.
Next week, on Friday we will be having our first curriculum alive day for this academic year. The theme will be ‘Our Earth.’ During the day, pupils will be off timetable and vertically grouped where they will be immersed in a range of exciting activities. Pupils are invited to exchange one item of school uniform for anything blue or green – there is no charge for this.

Rock Band:
Our first Rock Band rehearsal took place this week with musicians already putting together ideas, progressions and grooves. Congratulations to those who have been successful and thank you to Mr Bell for running this first session. For those who have not been successful in joining the band on this occasion, please try again in September next year when we will be reshuffling musicians to give others an opportunity.
Carol Service:
A reminder that our school Carol Service this year will take place at Pershore Abbey on Thursday 8th December at 7pm. Please note that all students in the Junior and Middle school are expected to attend as they are participating in several pieces and carols. Our ensemble players, prefects and Year 11 and choirs are also expected to attend. Please make a note in your diary. More details to follow regarding a rehearsal during the day on the 8th December.
Music Stars of the Week:
Lucy Sinnott in S11 for her composition work this week, Wiliam Duckworth, Tom Land and Laura Harding in S10 for their focus and attitude towards their first term of GCSE Music; well done. I would also like to praise Harry Clifford and Tapiwanashe Mandaba in 7MW for their superb progress with their keyboard performance. Very well done to all.

ISA U11’s 5 a side Football Tournament
Seven U11 pupils travelled to the Wyre Forest Leisure Centre in Kidderminster for the annual ISA 5 a-side football tournament hosted by Heathfield Knoll and Twycross House schools. The format for the day had changed from previous years as all teams were put in to four groups with six teams in each group. All teams then went into 4 more groups worked out on the previous results. This meant that all schools had 10 matches of seven minutes to play to decide the final outcome on points.
During the day the Bowbrook team gelled well as it was their first competitive outing together. As the games progressed, the boys got stronger and stonger. New pupil, Alfie B, was like a cat in goals reaching the near impossible balls keeping them in the game. Also on the score sheet were Josh S, Tom W and Bobby R.
Well done to all the boys, you tried your best and behaved impeccably all day.
U11’s Hockey vs Heathfield
On Monday afternoon the U11 hockey squad travelled to Heathfield school. It was a wet and windy afternoon, but the girls were excited to get stuck in.
Rosalie Wilkinson volunteered to start at Goal Keeper and she did a great job stopping Heathfield from scoring. She was supported in defence by Penny Mills and Jasmine Wright.
Poppy Stokes was dominate in attack and fed some great passes across to Amelie Laws who was waiting in the D to score.
Olivia Bille as always was reliable in midfield working hard to help the defence and took some fast free hits to get the ball into the Bowbrook half.
Bea Heaume made some excellent tackles in defence and cleared the ball away with power and accuracy. She was the well deserved nominated player of the match.
Great play by all the girls. Well done.
Final score 5-0 win to Bowbrook.
U16’s Rugby vs St Edwards
On Wednesday we hosted St Edwards on a return fixture from before half term. The Bowbrook team was out early to prepare, eager to prove themselves from the defeat suffered in the 1st meeting between the two teams. From the first whistle it was clear that revenge was on the mind of the team and they started the game with huge physicality which they didn’t let up for the entire game.
The first try of the game fell to Bowbrook as Fin caught a mis-hit kick from St Edwards in the open field, a result of huge pressure from the Bowbrook defence, and out ran the St Edwards team to their try line. The try was unconverted, 5-0 to Bowbrook. St Edwards did not take this lying down and immediately responded by camping themselves in the Bowbrook 22.
Heroic defending at the try line from the whole team denied St Edwards repeatedly from getting their first score. With momentum on Bowbrook’s side the team took advantage of possession to play the game in the right areas, making St Edwards defend and ultimately scoring from further pressure. Further tries were scored in the first half by Fin and Ailbhe, with successful conversions from Ailbhe, bringing the first half to a close with the score 19-0.
St Edwards cameback into the game with renewed vigor at half time and made the Bowbrook boys defend heavily in the second half. They scored early on and this sent a message to the team that the game was not over.
Fin caught another mis hit kick in open space, to run in a hat trick for himself and Bowbrook’s 4th try of the game, successfully converted by Ailbhe. St Edwards grew with physicality in the last few minutes of the match, scoring 2 quick tries in succession, but ultimately the Bowbrook defence held strong, resulting in a 26-17 victory to Bowbrook.
U13’s Rugby vs Bredon
Thursday saw our U13’s travel to Bredon for a return fixture. After a contact ready warm up the team took the field to be immediately greeted by a strong running and physical Bredon team. Bredon scored a few quick tries before Bowbrook began to play a more physical game and 10 minutes into the game, the team began to get their hands on the ball.
Bowbrook’s first try came from Oli as he noticed a lack of defenders, picking up the well presented ball and powering his way to the try line. This try gave the team a huge boost in overcoming their physicality. Bowbrook made improvement after improvement in defence and began to slow down the Bredon teams runners, counter rucking powerfully. Quick ball
from Cameron at penalty time and strong running from Lucca put Bowbrook over the gain line and the team began to make positive movements forwards, into the Bredon half.
In the last 10 minutes of the game the Bowbrook team looked unrecognisable from the team kicking off. Powerful tackles were being made by all the players, and after initial contact, tackle completion was improving. Strong carries from Oli saw him score another 3 tries bringing his total for the game to 4 and Archie out paced his opposite player, down the wing to finish a wonderful try in the corner.
The end result from the game was 8 tries to 5 to Bredon, but the Bowbrook boys should be very proud of their resilience to not stop playing through the game, the improvements they made as a team throughout the game, and a much closer and competitive match to the fixture played before half term.
Students should check the PE notice board to see if they are involved in fixtures.
