Summer Term 2021 – E news 21.04.21 – start of term
Welcome back everyone … or indeed welcome to our newest pupils.
We have eight new pupils starting tomorrow ranging from Nursery, years 1, 4, 5, 6 ,
7 & 8… so a healthy intake across several year groups. Welcome.
LFT:
Please don’t forget to do your lateral flow test tonight and to report the results to
results@bowbrookhouseschool.co.uk.
Covid: Basic Covid precautions continue as before Easter. Pupils will be taught in their
‘areas and ‘bubbles’ and seating plans will be kept to try to minimise but also trace
any potential contacts should that prove necessary which we sincerely hope it will
not.
Drop off and Pick Up: are the same as before easter. If you do need to come into
school or speak to staff, please try to arrange this in advance and a mask would be
necessary.
N/R, Year 1 & 2: Again, could parents please remember to wear their masks when
dropping off or picking up and please do not enter the Infants play area.
Parents are asked not to get out of their cars unless absolutely necessary.
Overflow Parking: At present the field is more than dry enough for parents to use it
as an overflow car park and to ease traffic on the drive and in the village. Please do
park on the field if you can.
I have been told that a speed camera has been booked by the village for his week!
Uniform:
I have had some questions and concerns over uniform. Winter uniform is still ok at
present. So is summer! Change is optional. We normally leave it until more certain
weather before declaring summer uniform. Usually in two or three weeks’ time.
Similarly the pupils usually return in summer uniform in the autumn, again until the
weather turns. Please do not worry if you are still waiting for uniform. As long as it is
either winter or summer uniform it is acceptable…but please do not ‘mix and match’
the two styles!
Mobile Phones:
Pupils do not need phones in school (unless they travel by bus or mini bus) please
leave them at home or in the car. If you do have your phone in school it is to be
switched off and handed in. School reserves the right to look at any mobile phone’s
content if it suspects it is in breach of the school’s ‘acceptable use of ICT’ policy.
Phones will be collected by tutors at the start of the day. Pupils who retain their
phones risk an order mark.
Second Hand Uniform:
Will remain on display with an ‘honesty box’ in the main marquee until the end of this
week. Parents are welcome to look – as long as you wear a masks, sanitise your
hands etc, before school or at pick up. Please park on the field if going to second
hand uniform shop. Thank you.
Thursday 22nd April:
Normal start:
Tomorrow is straight back to it. Registration at 8.50 with Lesson 1 starting at 9.00 so
remember to get a good night’s sleep.
Peripatetic Music Lessons:
All start on Monday.
BLaST Support lessons:
All start from tomorrow.
If you are one of the new pupils:
Nursery and Year 1, please go round with them to the Infants play area where staff
will greet you.
Years 4 – 8: if you come to the front door/entrance hall, staff will be here to meet you
and to take you to your classrooms or to the playground where you will be introduced
to classmates.
Please do not worry, we will look after you!
So; welcome back everyone and I look forward to seeing you bright and early for that
