SPRING – 

Spring 1 – Transport

Welcome to the Spring term in Nursery and Reception with Miss White and Mrs Geisler!

We start by exploring the topic of transport. We will investigate different was we can travel, where we might go and how transport has changed over time. There will be investigations, lots of creating and discussions about how we will stay safe. We will be reading lots of fantastic stories such as Mrs Armitage on wheels by Quentin Blake and Duck in a truck by Jez Alborough.

Spring 2 – Minibeasts

After half term we will be moving on to investigating impressive insects and have wonderful stories such as the ‘Hungry Caterpillar’ and ‘The bad tempered ladybird’ both by Eric Carle.

During our Spring term Nursery our phase 1 phonic activities will be on going with lots of fun games practising skill such as rhyming and alliteration. Reception we are working on our phase 3 sounds and tricky words.

In Maths Nursery will comparing, sorting and matching and exploring patterns, position, routes, repeats and numbers. We will be following White Rose and first looking at Alive in 5, mass and capacity, growing 6, 7, 8, length, height and time, building 9 and 10 and exploring 3D shape.
