National ISA Award Winner 2017

The National ISA Awards dinner was held at the Hilton Hotel in Coventry on Friday 10th November 2017.

Bowbrook House School had reached the ‘finalists’ in two categories. We made the final 3 in ‘Academic Excellence and Innovation, Senior School Award’ and in the ‘Excellence in School Sport (small school) Award’.

Hosted by the BBC presenter Gary Richardson the awards ceremony was the culmination of the 2016 – 2017 academic year for over 340 schools Nationwide.

We were delighted to Win the National Award for School Sport in recognition of our inclusivity that is combined with National and International success for individuals and teams across the school..

Richard Mills, Assistant Head and Head of Sport wrote the bid which emphasised how all pupils are encouraged and given the opportunities to participate in PE and Games lessons, in House sport and in representing the School. On the flip side we can also support some very talented individuals who compete at the very highest level and who need support with their schooling due to their sport and training commitments. The model which aspires to excellence but which encourages inclusvity was commented upon by the judges as being particularly noteworthy.

My Thanks go to Mr Mills for his efforts and to Mrs Heumme who completed the bid for the Senior School award. She should be congratulated on being a finalist and was ‘rewarded’ with a splendid certificate. I would also need to thank and commend Mrs Ridge, Head of Prep School and Miss White, EYFS who completed bids for the awards this year. Staff are justifiably proud of the school and the work that we do here and it is a testament to this that they were prepared to go the extra mile in entering these prestigous awards, which requires thought, time and effort on their part over and above the day job!

Congratulations to all the staff and we can now add ‘School Sport’ National ISA winner to our Wins of  ‘Senior School of the Year’ and ‘Headteacher/Principal of the Year’ at the Worcestershire Education Awards for 2017 run in conjunction with Worcester University. 3 titles in one year. Impressive stuff!
