We’ve had lots of creative and exciting entries so far for the WHOLE SCHOOL Photography competition to celebrate David Attenborough’s 100 Years on Planet Earth. Two of our Arts Captains did a brilliant job in assemblies this week when talking about the competition to students, well done Jess and Rosie!
Looking forward to seeing more entries come in by the deadline on Monday 11th!

News From the Prep School
Happy Birthday David Attenborough! 100 Years today!
The Prep school had an inspiring assembly, led by Mr Mills this week, where we looked at some of Attenborough’s incredible work. We even got to guess the animal, with Mr Mills reading out a description as Attenborough! The children have loved watching clips of him and the amazing animals he has studied over the years. This one is a particular favourite of ours:
Years 1&2 also did a fabulous live lesson today all about him today too.
Our Stars of the week this week are:
- N/R - Charlie - for working hard at his beautiful painting
- 1/2 - Oliver - for fantastic work in Spanish
- 3/4 - Arthur - for settling in beautifully to his new class
- 5 - Billy - for doing really well in his end of unit Maths assessment
- 6 - Summer - for designing and making an amazing Anderson shelter for 10 Downing Street
We’ve had lots of visitors this week in Prep – people on tours, tasters and transitions. It’s been lovely getting to know the children that will be joining us in September.
The children in Year 6 have been developing their oracy skills today – check out our socials for them talking about their individual Anderson shelters they designed and made.
We have loved welcoming Miss Small into our Infants from the University of Worcester and she has really enjoyed getting to know our children and teaching Spanish.
Don’t forget the NATURE photography competition – we have already had several entries in Prep – please make sure the children bring their printed photos on Monday (or Tuesday if you are at the ISA event on Monday.) We have a great one from a parent too.
Have a lovely weekend. Prep Team
