Bowbrook Newsletter 2026
Bowbrook News
You should all have received my Annie Jr Special this morning as a separate email?
I sent a ‘standalone’ Annie Jr newsletter, firstly to emphasise the time, effort of and indeed the importance of, next week to so many pupils. Secondly, I sent it as a standalone as I did not want that information ‘lost’ in a long e-news!
So, Annie Jr, went out this morning and I am really looking forward to the production next week. Good luck to all involved. It will be great!
In other news:
Mr Swain - Please donate if you can to encourage him!
Some of you may know already, but I am currently training to run the Manchester Marathon on the 19th April this year. I am running it to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, which is something that has had a huge impact on many members of my family, and who help so many families with loved ones who do have Alzheimer’s. If anyone would like to donate, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks all,
JSw.

A fantastic week in Prep school
We were treated to a fabulous assembly by Class 3/4 who sang, danced, acted and even showed us their video (check out socials!) called It’s a hard cop life!
Infants produced a super film too all about their learning of the solar system – again on our socials – the children spoke confidently about their own planets. Year 5 have been busy today designing their own Mayan masks and have done brilliantly! Year 6 opened their Bowbrook hospital onsite today and saw various patients throughout the day – they were attended by visiting doctors from different eras. Nursery and Reception have been investigating helicopter blades and testing them out – what fun!
This week’s Stars of the week are:
- N/R - Beatrice - for super reading
- 1/2 - Roux - for fantastic swimming
- 3/4 - Eretria - for great work with Miss Rose
- 3/4 - Elina - for playing an excellent character during Crime Day
- 5 - Sophie - for increased confidence
- 6 - Joseph - for being a brilliant buddy to a taster child in our class
Year 3/4 are out on their trip on Monday to the Police Museum in Birmingham. Year 6 are signed up for a Tech We Can Safer Internet live lesson. Year 5 are making chilli hot chocolate and tacos next week – yum! 1/2 will be writing a diary entry (Y1) and a recount (Y2) as an outer space alien and N/R will be looking at special days in the calendar such as Shrove Tuesday and Valentines Day.
All things Annie next week – we are super excited!!
Have a lovely weekend all.
