Congratulations to George Tocknell, S10 for being part of the Worcestershire Rugby team that won the recent County Championship. Very well done.
To Tom Randall, S11, who, on seeing an elderly gentleman from the village stumble and fall, stopped, helped him up and checked he was ok to go on his way! Another villager and a parent thought enough of it to email me!
Finally to Cameron John, S11 on being elected an ambassador for the Midlands Ski Team due to leadership, inspiration of younger skiers and sportsmanship.
3 young men who through their endeavours, actions and charcter, have reflected very positively on themselves, their families and their school.
Very proud of all 3 of them…but I am sure there are many examples out there every week where Bowbrook pupils display those personal qualities that we hold in such high esteem here at School. But it is lovely to receive 3 such positive emails in one week!

Art News
Having received nearly 100 entries for the ISA Comic Strip Competition, we have now selected and entered 20, from years 4 to 9, for the Regional area competition. Congratulations to those students and fingers crossed!!
KS3 students have been working really hard this half term to produce exciting artwork in support of the school show. With Annie Jr. imminent, they look forward to seeing your reactions to their artwork on display over the next 2 weeks.

Please refer to the letter sent home on Thursday with students (and via Engage) regarding show week timings and logistics to support you and students in your planning for the week.
Rehearsals next week:
Tuesday 3rd February, 4-5.30pm.
Full cast and crew. Full run in COSTUMES. A photographer will be with us for this rehearsal.
Thursday 5th February, 4-5pm. (Year 10 parents evening)

Saturday 7th February, 10am-3pm (9am start for tech)
Students to bring a packed lunch and drink. Collection from the hall please.
Could we also ask that all costumes are now in school and in students bags, clearly labelled.
As per the rehearsal schedule there is an additional after school rehearsal planned on Tuesday 10th Feb, which will be for selected scenes dependent on the need identified at the rehearsal on Saturday 7th. We will share with students in school on Monday 9th if they are required and ask that parents please also check their emails on Monday 9th. This could be main roles or ensemble or both.
It’s the final countdown so please encourage attendance and thank you for your continuing support!

Music News
Music Stars of the Week: Mrs Hughes would like to share this week how impressed she is with all of her wind instruments and the excellent start which they have made to the term. In particular, praise was given to Joseph Price, Benjamin Rowe and Florence Ford for their great progress with their saxophone practice. Praise was also given this week to Rosalie Bolt in Year 8 for her fantastic flute progress. Very well done to all!
Music Extra-Curricular: Please note that after half term, Orchestra, Folk Group and Upper Chamber Choir will be returning. String Group will also return to its’ normal rehearsal time at the end of the day.
Mr Booton’s Drummers: Please look out for some letters going home with Drumming Students this week with regard to a new Middle and Senior Drumming Focused Club. If your child is interested in joining, please return the reply slip at the bottom of the letter, thank you.

News from the Prep School
Boat themed week in Nursery/Reception was a big success with floating and sinking investigations and making moving boat pictures! Junk modelling in J5 making space structures eg rockets, satellites and moon buggies; 1/2 painted some fabulous planets and chalk solar systems; lots of crime activities going on in preparation for their assembly next week in 3/4 and their Crime and Punishment Day on Wednesday and J6 are busy rehearsing their script and creating tickets for their movie the following week.
Our Assembly on Thursday was led by Class 1/2 – all things space. They talked about their planets they painted and shared some key facts. They are busy preparing a short film for you all to share their learning – keep an eye on socials next week.
Our Stars of the week this week are:
- N/R - Cree for being king
- 1/2 - Lottie for a positive attitude to everything
- 3/4 - Isabelle for always being on task and following instructions
- 5 - Ariel for excellent contributions to English lessons
- 6 - Joseph for brilliant work in algebra this week
Annie rehearsals are going really well and we are looking forward to the imminent shows!
