Comic strip

Don’t forget to come and see Mrs Mills to collect your template for the Comic Strip competition! We would like as many entries from students as possible by the deadline of 11th December!

Finally, it was lovely to see so many children and parents attend the Prep School Family Art morning last Saturday. It was lots of fun with fantastic bonfire themed artworks created in the process! Thank you to Miss White and all the staff who helped plan and run this very creative morning!

News from the Prep School

What a super week. The children and staff all came together for a two-minute silence on Tuesday for Remembrance Day. Lots of the classes have made lovely Remembrance displays in their windows with beautiful poppies, which you may have seen at drop off/pick up.
We also had Vicky in from HSBC who delivered workshops across all our classes. Class 6 did a session called Fraud and your money; Year 5 did Smart Gaming; Years 3&4 The Lost Purse; Years 1&2 Where does money come from and Nursery/Reception had a lovely story called Ed and Bunny Earn.
Thursday we were treated by Class 1&2 to a Remembrance Day assembly, where they shared thoughtful poems.

Our Stars of the week this week are:

  • N/R: Beatrice - for being really helpful
  • 1/2: Max - for being a super role model to N/R
  • 3/4: Jonas - for excellent work in Maths this week
  • 5: Megan - for challenging herself
  • 6: Sienna - for writing a super speech

There has been lots of work going on across Prep this week: painting Christian depictions of ‘Light of the world’; investigating different materials; painting marine life in the style of Giles Ward; writing poetry amongst other things.

Next week is our final week of Stay and Play this term. We will be starting again after Christmas. More details to follow on socials.

Thank-you so much to the many, many people who responded to our Prep School socials form online – we will be reviewing your answers and comments over the coming week.

Have a lovely weekend all. Mrs Mao and Prep Team

School Tea-Towel

All students have been a given a letter regarding the opportunity to purchase a school tea- towel . Everyone in school will have their ‘head ‘ drawn on the tea-towel. It’s a great opportunity to purchase Christmas presents and makes a lovely keep-sake.

If you would like to purchase one of the tea-towels £5 each, please reply to the letter with the correct cash or bacs date to form tutors by FRIDAY 21st NOVEMBER. Orders after this date will not be honoured (Sorry – tight turnaround!)

All profits will go to Comic Relief.
Many thanks from Miss Brookes.

Candy Canes

From next week pupils will be able to buy a candy cane for a pound, to be delivered to a friend in the last week of term.
DofE participants in Year 9 will be selling them to raise money for the charity “Shelter”. They will bring them around during morning registrations and will be selling them at short

break in the gazebo (outdoor classroom) or S2 (Mrs Ford’s classroom) depending on the weather.
The cost is £1. Pupils need to write the name and form of the recipient and can write them a short message.

London marathon

Mr Bille has secured a place in the London marathon 2026 and is running for Children with Cancer UK, it would be great if Bowbrook could make a small donation….. 🙂

Donate here

It’s a great cause supporting children with cancer. Mr Bille will ‘employer match’ any funds raised so effectively doubling your donation! He is hoping he can raise £14k for the ‘children with cancer’ charity.

Thank you!

Follow us!
