Educational event - Night at the Museum

On Friday, 20^th June 2025 Bowbrook school was completely transformed into a museum overnight.

Children at Bowbrook House School in Peopleton became curators of their very own museum, with each classroom hosting a different time in history from ancient Greeks and the Shang Dynasty to WW2 and toys and transport. The children were in costumes and talked about all the exhibits in their classrooms – from Anderson shelters that they had designed and built to Ancient Greek Gods they had sculpted.

The Mayor of Worcester, Dr Matt Lamb, was very impressed, “As a historian by academic background it was brilliant to see all the displays about WW2, the Greeks and the Chinese dynasties. I particularly enjoyed the living portrait gallery portraying important historical figures and the performances of songs from Six.”

There were vintage cars on display, performances by the children and QR codes to scan of the coded images that the children had sent to the International Space Station as part of their Toys topic in Infants and a museum trail to complete as visitors explored the different parts of the museum.

One of the many visitors commented, “When the Bowbrook community comes together, it truly excels. The museum was such an innovative showcase, not only the creativity of the children and a personal lens into the lives of their families but also their deep engagement with both their own work and that of the wider school community. It was a remarkable display of collaborative learning and imagination in action.”
