Bowbrook at its best … the freedom and creativity through inspirational teachers giving the chance to ‘run with it’…

Night at the Museum was truly memorable. My thanks to all staff involved, especially those in the Prep School but ably supported by other colleagues and many parents too. The result was an enjoyable, educational, truly community event – The Mayor of Worcester was very impressed!

A fuller news story, with all the photos, will appear on the school’s website in due course and will hopefully feature in the Worcester News. We will keep you posted…

Music News

Date for your Diary: Our Summer Concert this year will be held on Wednesday 2nd July in the marquee. Please note that all students from Reception to Year 9 are involved as well as approximately half of Year 10 who are performing or volunteering. It is expected that these students attend and contribute to our school community.

If there is a reason that your child cannot attend, please excuse in writing to Mr Allen, thank you. Our musicians have been practising very hard over many months to share their music with you. Thank you for your support.

Upper Chamber Choir Notice: Please note that there will be a final extended rehearsal next week on Wednesday after school until 5.30 for those who are able to stay that little bit longer, thank you.

Stars of the Week: Year 8 for their ‘pop band’ performances this week. The year group have been forming their own bands and practising for many weeks to give a cover version of their chosen pop song’ working out chord progressions and riffs of their own accord They gave some superb performances and managed their nerves brilliantly -well done, Year 8

Art Room News

Art clubs:

Due to the whole school exams there will be no lunch break or after school clubs in Art next week. The last KS4 Art club for this academic year will take place on Thursday 3^rd July and is an extended session, from 4-6.30pm. Letters to confirm attendance have been sent home with students.

A day out!?!

If you are looking for a fun and free family day out, then The Severn Arts Summer Festival is taking place on Saturday 28th June, 10am-4pm. A vibrant celebration of music, art, and creativity! Experience the transformation of The Guildhall, Arch 27, Worcester Cathedral and St Andrew’s Church into exciting spaces filled with performances, exhibitions, and activities for all ages. While you are there, don’t forget to pop into the Cloisters at the Cathedral to see Bowbrook’s ‘Cape of Courage’ during the last weekend of the Young Voices New Visons exhibition!

First Aid Champions

Congratulations to our First Aid Champions – Florina Hawtree, Violet Williams, Penny Heaume, Maria Parkes and Rosalie Bolt who have successfully completed a Red Cross First Aid Course.

The First Aid Club will run for M7 again next year, so if you are currently in J6 and would like to learn some life saving skills, please see Mrs Mason to secure your place for September!
