Other Music news
Several of our students have had great success with recent vocal exams. Jess Darby has a achieved a high merit in her Grade 3 Musical Theatre and Ruth Drakeley has achieved a high merit for her Grade 1 singing exam; congratulations to both, this is fantastic news!
Mabel Phillips, Olivia Simpkin, Felicity Moore have all achieved a Distinction for their Grade 4 singing exam and Olivia Bille has also gained a Distinction for her Grade 2 singing exam – very well done indeed.
Finally, congratulations to Elena Svancara in J3 who has achieved a Distinction for her Grade 1 Musical Theatre exam.
I am sure you agree that this is an outstanding set of results and we are so proud of our musicians who have worked very hard towards their exams. A big thank you too to Mrs Watkins and to parents for their guidance and support.
Instrumental: I have had to make a few changes to the violin timetable; my error and my apologies. Please see the amended timetable coming home with students early next week.
Guitar Lessons: It is uncertain whether Mr Jones will return to teach this half term due to health issues. I do apologise and I am sure you will join me in sending well wishes his way. Thank you for your patience whilst we work to confirm arrangements moving forward.
Thank you!
Mrs Izod
News from the Prep School
It was lovely to welcome all the children back to Prep School, including some new faces to our classes. We have been super impressed with how the children are behaving and how they are applying themselves in their learning. They have been busy – there have been papier machés being created, songs being sung, new friendships being made, history challenges being devoured, amongst many other things. The children are enjoying their new topics – please see welcome letters or website class pages for further info for each class.
The children have all signed up for some exciting clubs and some are preparing their campaigns for becoming a Prep School Councillor. Year 6 became Tudors for the day today at Stratford-upon-Avon and had lots of fun! More trips have been booked – details to follow.
