A busy today at Bowbrook
All seems to have gone well with the Middle and Seniors’ Activity Days… lots of fun and no dramas, which is the way I like it at this stage of the term! I hope you all remembered to say thank you to the teachers for organising!
Meanwhile, back at Bowbrook, it was Prep School Sports and Prizegiving.
Fantastic atmosphere, lots of great endeavour and some impressive performances. What impressed me most was the willingness to cheer ‘every body’ on … great sportsmanship. Well done to all the pupils for giving their best efforts!

Some today were chosen for prizes…but ALL are valued…ALL are recognised…form teachers, commendations, smiley faces charts…but today we choose a few…there are MANY here who deserve a prize…If your child was not recognised today then console them yes but remember to be pleased for those who have won …and then resolve to try to do even better next year…

Art Room News - (My last contribution to the E News.)
A huge ‘Thank you’ to members of Year 6, 7, 8 and 9 for their contributions to the displays, programmes and posters for the Summer Concert. We have loved working with Mrs Izod each year to support the concert. What amazing musicians and singers and artists we have at Bowbrook!
On Wednesday we also welcomed Luca De Freitas Pires back in to school. He very kindly agreed to come in to work alongside me in my classes and to share his fabulous GCSE portfolio with them. He talked about his artistic journey, demonstrated his drawing techniques and shared his love for art. Luca and the pupils on this year’s GCSE course have made my last Year at Bowbrook very special. They are a fabulous group of young people and I feel very proud of them and delighted to have worked with them.
I want to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to SO MANY pupils who have made my work at Bowbrook so very rewarding over the years, as their art teacher but also as members of my tutor groups. It is wonderful to also hear about past pupils and find out how their artistic journeys have progressed.
We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our Parent body and I would like to thank every family. We were also really delighted for the recent kindness and support we have had for our leavers’ fundraising venture. It is just brilliant!
And lastly, my wonderful fellow colleagues, both teaching and non teaching. I have valued their friendship and their support so very much. We have such fun as well as enjoying working hard together. I will miss everyone very much indeed.
As we all depart for the summer holiday, I will be raising a toast to our wonderful school, Bowbrook. I wish Mrs Mills, our incoming Head of Art, all the very best wishes for her new start in the Autumn Term.

News from the Prep School
We are all very proud of the Prep pupils and their contributions to this week’s Summer Concert, whether performing individually or as a group it was a lovely evening.
Our Star Pupils this week are:
- N/R - Isabelle McElroy for lovely reading.
- I1 - Ryder Cassidy for a superb performance in the summer concert.
- I2 - Elena Svancara for a fantastic solo in the summer concert.
- J3 - Luca Carmine for his enthusiasm in the concert rehearsals.
- J4 - Summer Comens for working really hard in RS.
- J5 - Leo Maciej - Clarke for an excellent solo performance in the summer concert.
- J6 - George Haydon for his enthusiasm and maturity.
We have also commended Sienna Comens this week on achieving her Gold swimming award – very well done. Also, Iris Cates who has gained her Grade 1 Dance medal and certificate. Congratulations also go to Jack Jones for achieving his Strategy and Evolution medal at Scouts.
Next week our Infants have their trip to Attwell Farm on Monday and the Juniors are heading off to the West Midlands Safari Park on Wednesday.
