Well, what a week!
It started with a phone call on Monday morning at 8.30 form ISI the Independent School’s Inspectorate and after three days of intense scrutiny, it ended with me reading Wonky Donkey to the Infants for World Book day! Such is the variety in my role!
Inspection Feedback
I am very limited in what I am currently allowed to say. However I did say a big ‘thank you’ to the pupils and Friday and would like to thank all parents who completed the ISI questionnaires. Both were overwhelming positive. 98%+ ‘satisfaction rating’. The Inspection has left me with a huge sense of pride and a very happy Headmaster. Thank you.
I would also like to that ALL the staff. The SLT who performed brilliantly, teaching, administration, maintenance and catering – all were inspected and all did so well! Thank you to the whole Bowbrook team!
There are tight time frames for the publication of the new report, but with Easter in between it will not now be until the summer term.

Worcestershire education Awards 2024
We have received notification that we are ‘finalists’ for the Worcestershire Education Awards for the following categories:
Independent school of the Year
STEM Project of the year
headteacher of the Year
3 finalist categories! We will keep you posted of the results which take place on the evening of Thursday 18th April. Thank you all who took the time to nominate us. It is very much appreciated.
We have a very busy two weeks ahead of us with many also looking forward to Paris and Malta trips!

Zoo for a Day
A date for the diary is 20th March – Zoo for the day. We have been promised quite a few ‘caged’ animals, smaller pets, that will be on display in the science lab. We are still looking for more ‘big animals’ for the field and a few more entries for the afternoon’s dog walk!
Music News
Congratulations to all GCSE musicians who have given some outstanding solo and ensemble performances this week. Many thanks to parents who have supported; it is always such a pleasure to hear their progress.
Extra-Curricular Many apologies for having to cancel Lower Chamber Choir and GCSE Composition Sessions this week. All will resume next week.
Peripatetic Many apologies also as Mr Jones and Mrs Watkins have been unwell this week and have been unable to deliver lessons on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Lessons will of course be made up or taken off invoices. Please contact me if you have any queries.

News from the Prep School
Another very busy week in the Prep School. On Wednesday J3 visited the recycling centre as part of their Geography studies. On Thursday our youngest members of the Prep School N – I2, visited the Hive Library in Worcester as part of our World Book Day activities and then on Friday we all dressed up as our favourite characters to celebrate World Book Day. Assembly was taken by J6 who had prepared PowerPoint slides to talk to the children about their favourite books.
We were also very proud of our U11 Netball team who competed in the ISA Netball Tournament and came home with Bronze medals, very well-done girls.
This week our Star Pupils are:
- N/R - Roux Moss for super reading.
- I1 - Eretria Bolt for super handwriting.
- I2 - George Peacop for sharing his extensive knowledge on dinosaurs.
- J3 - Harry Stephens for being a great asset to the school on our class trip.
- J4 - Oakley Clarke for always being polite and well mannered.
- J5 & J6 - Both classes for being great ambassadors of the school during inspection week.
Well done everybody.
We also commended the following pupils for achieving their Accelerated Reading Targets: George Stephens, Oakley Clarke, Luke Drakeley, Luca Carmine, Sienna Comens, Rosalie Bolt, Sam Bowditch and Violet Williams. Well done also to George Stephens for gaining his pen licence this week.
Parents’ Evening
The Prep Staff look forward to meeting parents next Thursday at Parent’s Evening. You should have all received your appointment slots by now.
Zoo for a Day and Prep School Disco!
A date for the diary is 20th March – not only is it Zoo for the day – but also we will be holding a Prep Easter Disco from 3.30 – 4.30pm.
