First Period Positive School in Worcestershire

Bowbrook House School in Peopleton, Worcestershire, becomes the first school in the County to be ‘period positive’. Working in conjunction with Fab Little Bags and Empower-Health.org; boys and girls at key stage three and four have been learning about the impact of the menstrual cycle on training, sport and on their ability to study and revise! 

They have also looked at the environmental impact of not binning responsibly. Striving to keep period products out of our rivers and oceans, while ensuring easy discrete and responsible disposal with confidence. Signs are now on display in all the toilets and fab little bag dispensers are freely available to all the girls.

More lectures are planned from Empower-Health’s founder and former pupil of Bowbrook House School, Emily on EmPower Health’s mission which reaches beyond gender – it’s for everyone, because understanding women’s bodies isn’t just a benefit; it’s a necessity.

It does not matter whether you are a woman yourself or not, EmPower Health bridges the gap between biology and behaviour, making science easy to grasp and, more importantly, actionable for all.
