One week to go until the Christmas Fayre!

Please may we have donations of chocolate, bottles, children’s books and also preloved teddies/ soft toys? These can be brought in from Monday next week. Please bring cakes into school next Friday morning so Mr Mills isn’t tempted!

Christmas Raffle

Raffle ticket envelopes have all been sent home today, so please check school Bags!
A reminder that donations for the class hampers can be brought in from Monday, please can they be labelled for the class hamper raffle so that they don’t get mixed up with all the other donations ahead of the Christmas fair!

The deadline for raffle tickets to be handed in is Monday 13th December, and the draw taking place at the end of term. Please can you ensure either your name or child’s name is written on the back of purchased raffle tickets and returned with the monies back to school!

As always thank you for your support.
The Parents Committee.

Parents’ Committee Questionnaire

The following link will allow parents to access the Parents’ Committee Questionnaire which we would appreciate as many parents as possible completing to help us understand your needs and preferences with regards to the Parents’ Committee events and fundraising allocation.  It should not take very long and will help us with decision making moving forwards:

Thank you in advance for taking the time.
From the Parents’ Committee.

It’s not all Parents’ committee this week – Honest!

Charlie 'suspended' for the week!

Due to the Carol Service, there will be no Charlie and the Chocolate factory rehearsals this coming week. This includes breaktimes, lunch times and after school rehearsals. We hope the cast use this time to learn lines for the scenes that we have covered so far. We look forward to seeing you in the last week of term.

Miss I Jones

Carol Service:

The children are very excited to join together to share their music and readings on Thursday 7th December at Pershore Abbey. All children in the Junior School (J3, 4,5,6) and in the Middle School (7,8,9) are involved and expected to participate. Year 11 are encouraged to attend their last Carol Service; some of which are reading or supporting in other ways. Ensemble players, selected Year 10’s and 11’s are also participating.

Our service begins at 7pm. Please could all students arrive at 6.30 and could all instrumentalists arrive at 6.15 to tune their instruments and warm up. Full school uniform is expected. The children have been practising very hard and we anticipate a very festive and enjoyable evening.

Please be aware that during the school day on Thursday 7th December, those involved in the Carol Service will be rehearsing at the Abbey with the majority returning for lunch time.

Orchestra: Please note that there will be a longer rehearsal until 5.20 on Tuesday after school for those who are able to stay a little longer.

Lower Chamber Choir will run as usual on Monday.
Upper Chamber Choir will finish at the usual time of 5pm this week.

Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you on Thursday in good voice!
Mrs Izod

News from the Prep School

This week our youngest children in the Prep School had a fabulous time at Bodenham Arboretum, following the Nativity trail. The poor weather didn’t dampen any of their spirits.

Next Friday Year 5 depart for Compton Verney to further their History studies on the Shang Dynasty. We are also very excited for our Nativity which takes place next Friday at 9.30am in the school hall. Parents are welcome to have a warm drink in our dining hall after dropping children off.

Thank you to Year 6 for leading our Prep Assembly this week all about the meaning of Advent. Our Star Pupils this week are:

  • N/R - Hudson Hartwell for researching the topic of the week.
  • I1 - Ryder Cassidy for brilliant writing of the Nativity story.
  • I2 - Adam Haines for super Science work.
  • J3 - Ariel Lewsey for persevering when work is difficult.
  • J4 - Rory Mason for excellent Science work.
  • J5 - Fabien Mason for showing resilience.
  • J6 - Harper Hartwell for always being so helpful.

We also commended Megan Harris (J3) for achieving her Bronze Progressive Test from Pony Club and Oscar Birch(J5) for being awarded his purple belt in his mixed Martial Arts club. Congratulations everybody.

The Prep Staff look forward to seeing our parents over the next couple of weeks at one of our Christmas events, the Carol service, Nativity of the Christmas Fair.

Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs. Ridge
