2022 Speech day success

Congratulations to all our prizewinners and indeed to all pupils on a wonderful Sports and Speech day.

The day celebrates Year 11 and gives every single pupil their moment in the spotlight as they come up to receive their ‘Leavers’ Certificate’ and their autographs book.

Some of course are then recognised for their achievements and efforts over the last two years.

As Mr Allen said “Some today will be chosen for prizes…but ALL are valued…ALL are recognised…form teachers, commendations, smiley faces charts, we have our end of term assemblies coming up… I am sure over the year that ALL have been recognised and valued at some point… but today we choose a few… there are MANY here who deserve a prize…

The decision as to who is Awarded the prize is made by the whole Prep school staff. They see the pupils in their entirety, how they behave at break, their relationships with the younger pupils, with their peers…with staff

Staff agonise over these decisions

Staff are best placed to judge objectively the recipients

Staff are impartial in their decision making process

If your child is not recognised today then console them yes but remember to be pleased for those who have won …and then resolve to try to do even better next year.”

Since he was 3 ½ , this young man has never given less that 100% to Bowbrook. His enthusiasm never wains, Music, orchestra, Drama and school productions, school sport over the years and in particular as U16 goal keeper. He will do all that is asked of him and never complains. He has never had an order mark, I don’t think he has ever been in detention! Polite, kind, caring and as proud of his school as we are of him…

This year’s Headmaster’s Cup 2022 is awarded to:  Oscar Murray
