2022 GCSE grades. Another year to be proud of!
Bowbrook House School Peopleton. Winner of the 2022 Education Awards for Independent School of the Year and Headteacher of the Year… was yet again very proud of the achievements of this year’s Year 11 in their GCSE results.
Headmaster Chris Allen was at pains to praise the efforts of pupils and of staff over these very trying two years. Combined with the support of parents Year 11 have done extremely well and have demonstrated resilience and character in the face of unprecedented times in education.
With 25 pupils in the year group we have to be ‘careful’ when quoting statistics as very small optional subjects/teaching groups can be statistically bias. Sometimes we need to look at the individual’s journey and remember their starting point. Qualities such as resilience, honesty, manners, tolerance, etc are not measured by GCSEs and yet abound amongst our students. We are very proud of our ‘Leavers of 2022’.
In Numbers and bearing in mind we are a non-selective independent school:
Overall pass rate at 4+ is 88.2%
5+ including English and Maths 80%
Total GCSE passes at 7+ was an impressive 35.3%
The overall pass rate is in line with the government’s decision to reign in grades from the TAGs of the last two years but these results are still impressive when compared to the 2019 cohort and reflect talent, hard work and a desire to prove themselves. My congratulations to the class of 2022. We are very proud of them!
My congratulations and thanks go to the teaching staff too who have worked tirelessly. English Lit, Biology, Physics, History, Art, Physical Education and French all achieving 100% pass rates for their pupils.
