2019 GCSE results ‘delighted Headmaster’!

A delighted Headmaster was able to welocme the class of 2019 to collect their results today from school…

Success comes in many forms and this year group have already been successful. They have overcome a number of challenges. For some the journey has been a long one and they have come up from our prep department. For others the journey has only been two or three years but it is none the less rewarding. Good manners, etiquette, self-belief, self-esteem, working hard for its own rewards not because one wants extrinsic praise. For many of these young people they have already succeeded. However it is very rewarding indeed to see them also rewarded ‘on paper’ through official results.

Faced with more ‘rigorous’ GCSEs and with greater content and terminal exams, the staff and pupils have had much to contend with. This makes this year’s results all the more rewarding and significant.

93.5% achieved 5+ GCSEs

90.3% achieved 5+ GCSEs including English and Maths (could rise to 97% after potential re-marks!)

100% pass rates in Maths, English Lit, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Art and Physical Education.

23.8% achieved the highest GCSE grades.

Well done to the leavers of Year 11. I look forward to hearing where the next steps of your educational journey takes you…A successful year indeed.
